New Creations
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" John 1:12 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." John 3:5-8 In scripture, particularly the New Testament, the references are there that a person can become a changed individual... a New Creation. Adam & Eve were creations of God, their children however came about thru the process of a seed (conception), and from there on with the exception of Jesus, whose birth is of a different seed that replaces the corrupted seed of man. The very first miracle Jesus performed was at the wedding at Caanan, taking jars of clay (man is born of the dust of the earth), filling them up with water (hydrogen the most available substance in the universe & add oxygen... God's Breath). He blesses them and turns the water in the jars into fine wine, a transformation. Notice in John 1:12 the transformation referenced there, "become sons of God" ... a term used elsewhere in scripture as a reference to a created being of God, Jesus says elsewhere in the Gospels (paraphrased)... in the resurrection you shall be like angels, which are also referred to as "sons of God". The Baptism of Jesus marked a change, His transformation by being born of water and a presence of the Holy Spirit, just as He reveals to Nicodemus later on in a conversation, as indicated in the second scripture above. The prophet Isaiah, approx. 400 years before, gives the preview of this change in the term used "garments of salvation" in the scripture that follows: "I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels." Isaiah 61:10 The apostle Paul writes in Romans 8:29, "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren."To become of the same nature as Our Lord, in spirit and even physically ( a change in DNA structure ). From dust to water, and from water to wine. "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." Romans 8:14-15 God's Love and Blessings be with you!
