New Chapter

It's so odd to read my entries from 2009 when I found this online support group. I was at my very worse. The pain of betrayal, infidelity, illegitimate children, GBS illness. It was all overwhelming, like a nightmare I couldn't wake from. I remember all of the days and nights I spent crying, hoping time would just fast forward to lessen the pain and pray for the day that I would understand what the life lesson was that I was to learn from the nightmare that was my life.
Today, five years have passed and it seems like a lifetime ago. I am a strong and independent woman. I have raised two wonderful young men on my own since he left us for her. For a long time I didn't think I could live without a man. I didn't want to live without him. But today, not only am I completely comfortable by myself, I actually don't even think that I will even entertain the thought of ever remarrying. I have focused on my children and my health and peace of mind. I have made some amazing new friends. Strong women that are truly an inspiration to me as I have followed my passion and have supported my newly formed non profit to benefit animal rescue.
I would not have been on this path had it not been for my ex husbands infidelity. I am a much different person now. Much more relaxed. I don't sweat the small stuff anymore. I am messy, funny, easy going and just simple. But as my boys now have become young men, it is time for me to start a new chapter on these blank pages. One that discovers dating men again and learning to trust. Not sure that I am fully ready but I am beginning to notice the loneliness and perhaps it is time to explore relationships again. After all, it has been 5 years since my divorce. I hope with support from my friends I can find the strength to trust a man again and that I find a kind and loving man that will always be honest and treat me with the respect that I deserve. Let's see what 2015 will have in store for me. One foot in front of the other.
