New changes

I'm going to try to make it a habit to post on here more often as well as journal everyday just to see the evolution of my progress. I thought I would start off by stating all the things going on in my life one by one. First off, I am now on track to graduate with honors and have been accepted to almost every college I have applied to and have been offered scholarships to five of them which is exciting news for me. I also now have a boyfriend, he makes me really happy but also really sacred because this is all so new and I am so scared of getting hurt but I also know this is good for me and a good place to grow and learn to trust people and be more vulnurable around people. I need to branch out and learn to put myself out there. I am so sacred for the future, the rest of my life they're all calling it, when I go off to college and begin my adult life. I am terrified. I've just gotten my support system in place, how am I going to survive without them in college? I know I'll be able to call them but it's just not the same and I don't know what to do about it. I don't even know what I want to major in. I spend too much time overthinking and I feel so unsatisfied with my life but I'm trying to change that and do better and avoid triggers that put me into depressive episodes which have been happening more often recently for some unknown reason.

Lorilei - Good that you are posting. I use my posts like journal entries and do real journal entries also. I have one to pen today about my father and my latest round of ECT.

Leaving your support system is part of college. You are on your own finding what it is like to live alone and to support yourself. Your support system is there of course, but you are primarily on your own. You are now grown, and it is time to leave the nest. For my 18th birthday do you know what I got - luggage. My parents raised m,e and now it was time to leave. As I look back, that sounds harsh, but it forced me to grow up. So many young adults refuse to leave the nest, and their growth is stunted, and they never mature to full adults.

Get out there and spread your wings.

yeah, I suppose there is truth to that, a small part of me knows that soon enough I will be on my own and I need to prepare myself for that but some other small part of me is also excited to be more independent and capable of taking care of myself, I do think you are right about is stunting growth and I don't want that to happen to me, thanks for your advice @thor2008 I'll do my best to spread my wings and fly :)
