New Case Worker
Still no developments in the change of plans from the other grandfather. Daddy sent a text saying we are still approved for the winter vacation plans, but. . . Sorry, Daddy. You are disempowered by the protective custody order. The custodial grandfather holds that power and he has not communicated with us since he changed the plans. Our fear of lawsuit lotto willnae allow us to trust second-hand assurance from the custodial grandfather's SIL. There are divorce advisors screaming among the puppets in my head that we should get everything in writing.
The protective custody investigation for our GKs has been handed off to a new caseworker. I left a message in the voicemail of the number we were given for her, but she hasnae even had time to set up her voicemail yet, assuming the old caseworker gave us the right number. Again, I think of hiring a family lawyer to ease the load of our over-worked public servants, but, again, I worry about that being seen as an act of aggression by the other grandparents and their branch of the family tree. Again, flashbacks to my own birth family are making me believe I know how that body of conversation is going. It ain't purty. . . The fact that the new family members calls us, "Gringos" doesn't make the puppet show any purtier.
Hubs got sick last night and doesn't look any healthier this morning as he pounds his way through his work day. YS sent us both the same text last night offering the disempowered second-hand blessing to take his children for the winter vacation after both of us were in separate beds. Hubs texted back that we were both sick. I texted back that we were awaiting updates from CPS and the custodial grandfather. The morning update was not graceful, but . . . Prayers in progress.
