new car
Hi everyone,
Thanks to all for your validation and kind words on my last journal entry. While I wish my ex husband, (Ed's father) the best and of course, his other children (Ed's half siblings) all good things I have come to realize that I do have some residual resentment towards my ex who was drinking heavily, abandoned our son (his firstborn) and never financially or more importantly emotionally supported Eddie. Now that my ex is clean & sober he has many regrets and he did try to make amends with Ed a couple of years before Ed passed. At that time Ed wasn't ready to receive it & as my ex husband said who would have thought Ed would pass away at 37? My ex is 62 with many health problems but thought he'd have more time with Ed to apologize for abandoning him. Anyway it helped to journal out these feelings & read the comments.
Since so many people have asked I ended up going with a new car. I bought a 2011 Suzuki SX4. It has all wheel drive which will help in the winter as my job requires home visits and travel to meetings with collaterals. It is a crossover model and is silver with black interior and I love it. Christina has already borrowed it, lol!

Happy to hear you are feeling better. Learning to let go of the negative emotions is something we all have to do, even more than others. We are \"wide open\" as Joanie said.

Linda, I would imagine there is a lot of toxic regrets going on in the ex about now....not a pretty place to be....but we all have regrets...even unfounded regrets. We jus assume so much as the parents. I don\'t know if we can heal properly if we are consumed with regrets...the nasty monster of the mind.
I love the sound of a new car.....the smell....the no problems.... lol.....it sound divine. You need to put some miles on it and come for a visit in Florida. love to you and Ed....dale, brandon\'s mom

Hmmm - yes, my daughter has one of those ex\'s - but he has yet to develop any regrets - I can certainly relate - but, it does sound like things are a bit better for you - thankfully! New Car = Excitement...YAY! Enjoy!

Love the sound of your new car! I haven\'t yet read your previous journal entry because I\'m pretty much out of action these days until the end of July ~ just checking in and saying it sounds like today was much better than Monday and I\'m grateful for that and happy you have a slick new SUV!!

I am so delighted that this has given you such a lift! Nothing like a new ride to do that. My daughter has that exact same vehicle and has had it for over a year now and they absolutely love it. In fact, it is being packed to the gills for their vacation to the coast of Oregon tomorrow. I\'ll let you know how that goes as that\'s their first long journey in it. I\'ve been thinking a lot about you lately, dear Linda, with all the heart punches that you have been faced with and just want you to know that I\'m sending extra love your way. XO Joanie

I am happy for you and your new wheels. I am also glad you are feeling better inside you. The problem with ex \'s is they do not see the light untill you turn it off and then the realize what they have missed. I am glad you got that off you chest so you can move on... The new car is a great place to start :)

As hard as I try....as much as Kala demands it of me....it\'s still hard to totally forgive her father for the pain and suffering he caused her. I think it\'s just natural, a mothers love...so much easier to forgive those who\'ve abused me than those who abused my child. But alas, forgiveness is for US, not them...I keep reminding myself of this truth.
Congrats on the new car!!! Sounds awesome and I bet you just love driving it. I always want to take a road trip when I get a new car. Do you have any road trips planned? Maybe to GA????!!!!! Love ya girl!
