new battery for the car $150//went to sbarro's (not so great)//talked to s
having trouble getting on ds, but the computer is slow in general, so too many people on line?
there was an accident on a1a. having a very strange week. don't know what to make of it. close call. i saw it as it was coming and was the first car unfortunately. got over to the side of the road as far as i could, tire on the sand actually, didn't realize it, as i watched this woman in a 1998 green car swerving at high speed all over the road. wth? the car spun and then she got a hold of it. didn't think she would. good driver. what caused it? blow out? swerving from an object? no brakes. i was headed elsewhere and didn't stop. omg! will the police have the info? shakey driving passed after it. very sad. some cars turned around to help i guess. she must have had her seat belt on. very strange.
last night at 5 a.m. my car wouldn't start. then i heard wailing from one of the animals. i was hanging at the house wondering what to do. i call the place that said my battery was going when i got the oil changed. decided against going that far. went to sears instead. got a battery for $150 with install. no idea if that is good or not. the other guy said a battery is $100. this one was $125. went to breakfast and waited. very shakey night and no sleep at all.
went to sbarro's with j and wanted to go to the museam but i was too tired. talked to s who i never talk to. he says, he misses going to rb's for holidays because her house is so great. i vaguely remember this conversation before. he gets very excited about it. i'm like what band? for it to be "great" there should be a band. he laughs and he says. no, not that. he says matching plates. i say, matching plate, is that a band? its a good name for a band. [he meant her house looks like a set up from a store (and probably is)]. you take a photo of a display in a store that you like and just buy everything there and copy their set up IDENTICALLY. When you do visuals for a store, the designer or label actually gives you a drawing and it says okay, this is what you put out and where and sometimes even the colors for each area of the table or shelf as well. but kind of anal way to spend holidays.
the deal with rb is she wanted to learn how to decorate so she got a job at minimum wage as an assistant to a person doing visuals for macy's when she was 24, (even though she works in the dental field), and loved doing visuals, but it doesn't pay enough. Ever since then, every house she owns or leases looks like a display in macy's (and probably is actually). the tree. the table settings. the couch area, etc. lol. so if you go to her house for a party or dinner or a holiday, expect the feeling of sitting down for dinner inside a Macy's store and sitting at a MACY'S display, except with real food. for real. was surprised s said this at all, wouldn't think he would even be into that. but his mother is like the rest of us. very casual, and even if its a full set of china or stoneware, the glasses are probably not the glasses that go with the set, she acquires (i'd say "buys" but his family has many other issues with stealing so why say buy when its probably NOT). His mother acquires what she likes via her ex-husband and son both of whom steal, and matches with it whatever she likes, not what comes with the set. s doesn't steal he claims, instead he rarely buys new unless its an outlet, which is fine, at least he isn't a thief. s's wife is even more casual than his mother and would go a step further in what she finds via purchases through craigslist - she is more like the tightwad gazette, but HONEST. more than he can say for anyone else in his family. amazing how bad they all are. his aunt L was still breaking into my condos in south florida 15 years after i knew them and no longer had contact with them. wth. and she showed up at a realtor's office of one that helped her with a gun. but i'm digressing. but at least his wife and mother are very real. the copycat thing is like, and who are YOU, because i can't tell from any of this.
never thought you would enjoy or miss having dinner at a macy's display, s. since when are you anal? aren't you afraid of spilling something and ruining the display?
have the sweaters on the dogs. i didn't call anyone back yet. headed by the water.

computer is running fine here. Sounds like you may need to clean yours up a bit. Hope the weather is nice down there. We have snow and cold. ugh!!
Take care, Hugs
Maybe DS fixed something. Getting around this morning seems better than it has a while! Glad you weren\'t caught in the car accident! *HUGS*
thanks michelle, me too. we were talking about it this morning. that car is still on the side of the road. wonder if the police would have info. glad there weren\'t people on the sidewalk because they would be gone if they were. have never seen a car spin in person before. just on tv. lol, ds \"fixed\" something, probably true.
balmy and drizzly here today, linda. it was warm enough this morning to wash the car. around 78 i think. its about 65 now and its night. the car is running better with the new battery. stronger. i called around and allll the batteries are around 120 for this car, but other places install for free, so i\'d have saved the $20 install from sears. now to check consumer report to see if a die hard battery really is \"better\" than all the rest. at auto zone i could have gotten a \"gold\" for $140 total with a 5 year warranty plus tax. the rest was equal, $120 with a 2 year warranty. so i guess batteries cost over $100 nowadays. no one i know knew, i had expected $75 for an ordinary one and $110 for a gold, so i\'m a bit off. they checked the alternator etc., everything else is fine.
I\'m glad you are safe. I have been in a couple minor car accidents and they are no fun. At least you didn\'t have to wait for the police. As for the battery, you are getting the right price.
