never-ending day - picked up from p, dropped at pt's house, met with rn, headed to vet with star
i'll be writing this in reverse. today was a day that was never ending. that actually started last night.
i went to p's to pick up the two young cats at her house (that in my opinion she should simply keep outside her house, especially since her neighbor has three outside and three inside without a problem). p's former daughter in law was going on about it and claims p's daughter who is moving here next week (with her former abusive husband and has given her house up north to her newly married daughter nikole to use. she is supposed to watch out for p who has stage one alzheimers. the former daugher in law is ten years older than p's son, and they lived together for 17 years. she got sick. he left her as soon as she got sick because he doesn't want to do that. she says he was a player and probably cheating on her the entire time. he is now with someone ten years younger than him. p sided with the former daughter in law, who has a lot in common with p. they both had their first kids as young teens. p at 15 (another soap operat i'll write some other time) and the dil, at 14. she kept the baby and then had another one with an abusive boyfriend 3 years later. left him and married her first husband 5 years later. had two kids with him and stayed with him for 20 years. he left her for a younger oriental woman, who he had two kids with.
she moved to fort myers by two of her children when p's son left her but she hates the boyfriend of one of the kids so she moved to north florida to stay with p. she was telling me all this last night as i was trying to get the second cat into a carrier. both animals were petrified. she is trying to get into disabled housing (there is a lot of that here, but generally its a two year wait. its always been like that). developers should build more housing for disabled people. seriously. she has been at p's for over a year.
p's is still p's. she is a great cook and the first thing you notice when you go into her house is the food from dinner. its like that there all the time. very tempting. i used to hang out with her weekly, after midnight because she is seriously nocturnal like the rest of us. i don't eat her food since her husband died, because she has a habit of mixing bad or borderline food with fresh food and then you get sick from it. her kids won't eat there either. if SHE eats it you know its okay, otherwise, its a risk and better to call in her husband and find out for sure. she has no idea why she does this. he used to fix everything for her when she would screw up either from spoken word or things like the food. like her diplomat. but he has been gone for about eight years now. so its easier to avoid the whole thing.
she looks better than she did when her daughter was living with her. her hair is a great color. kind of burgandy. she can still play the organ and does. she has the back room set up for arts and crafts. so all of that is still normal. i don't get why her speech is screwy. i keep thinking couldn't this just be the result of a stroke, as you recover from a stroke and Alzheimer only gets worse and worse?
took over an hour to get the animals in two carriers. the bigger one is the nicer one. they are not fixed. grrrr. i also think they are younger than two years old. they have baby faces and aren't fixed and if a male isn't fixed they get that big face and neck. someone took good care of them at some point. huge cats. i drove them straight to rn's, but she had taken a sleeping pill (tylenol pm) and was asleep since 9 p.m. but pt, across the street from her had all her lights on and was awake, this is around midnight. so she took the two animals and they stayed in their carriers in her living room. pt has 4 small dogs, all of whom are over age ten, but they handled it.
this morning at 7 a.m. i'm on the phone with rn and she wants me to take star, a cat, to the vet for anything dental. i call the vet and i'm out of my house for a 10 a.m. appointment and to her's to get the cat and then to the vet. its on clindamycin with a steroid in it $52.00 plus office visit. a sore throat and tartar build up. all else normal. do i want blood work for $150, as everything seems okay. grrrr. no that's okay. kind of thing. two others have teeth issues or seem to. he says its $500 for a cleaning and half of that is anesthesia. grrrrr. i'll wait for a coupon or use the organic one north of here.

my doctor\'s office called to reschedule. every female doctor i\'ve had through that doctor group cancels or reschedules all the time. this one is now at this office a different day that i can\'t do at all, so onto the next doctor from that group. grrrr. also called in prescriptions as well. what a day.
star is 6.5 pounds, i would prefer she be 8.
