Neurologist visit

I saw the neurologist today. i updated her on the neurosurgeon's visit and his reluctance to do surgery. She said that was because they thought that I might not recover from a general anesthetic. She said that this is because of the problems with my airways closing partially when I exhale. She asked if the ENT doctor had suggested anthing. I told her that the ENT doc said that I had dysphonia and there was nothing to be done for it. My neurologist then called my pulm's office and spoke with the PA who brought her up to speed. The upshot of all this is now I have an increased dosage of primidone and I'm on a diet. (Diet?...hmph!maybe she's not as nice as I thought). I return to see her in 3 months and will get another MRI then to check the size of my ventricles.Then I will see the neurosurgeon again in 6 months....and I'm supposed to call if things go any more haywire.I also have my SSA disability hearing set for late May. While the money would be nice, I'm not holding my breath. I hope the neuro surgeon and my neurologist don't think that I'm faking anything. I didn't know about the hearing until yesterday but I can see where it might appear suspicious. The timing is awfully convenient. But then I guess the MRI and the Nuc Cisternogram don't lie. I'm just a bit paranoid. Oh well, I'll win my appeal or I won't. I'll be 62 in 14 months anyway and can file for SS then in any event... but I just don't want anyone thinking that I'm a malingerer. I had the same reaction when I got my disabled parking placard. I was embarassed. But now I know that I need it and I'm glad that it's in my car.Be well,Tom
