Nesidioblastosis

I now have a new illness a great big word . so for several months I have been hungry after I eat I went to the bariatric NP who told me it was my fault I had a tight fill she wasn't going to give me anymore and I needed to watch what I ate , she told me to eat more fresh fruit and yogurt and protein shakes. so I did and I gained 20lbs do you know after you lose 75lbs and to put that much back on in a few months is gut reneching. I tried to continue to eat right but nothing helped. then my blood sugar started dropping every day it would dip down into the 50 and 60s I went to my PCP who did some labs thought maybe I was working too hard . labs came back fine. but my sugar continued to dip. I would get it up and then it would drop down again fast. I was trying to work and keep my self up all at the same time. I asked my NP what to do she said I was skipping meals I told her I was not she told me to eat more fresh fruit and yogurt and stay away from candy. didn't help made things worse. I was referred to a endocrinologist but it was a month away. I went to another doctor when I hit 53 she consulted 2 other doctors one told me to eat peanut butter crackers . so misery I had for over 2 months . my fingers hurt from having to check so often. I was tired felt dizzy nauseous jittery and trying to work through it all. I wrote down my sugar and what I did to try and get it up for over a month to show the doctor it was not that I was not eating. As soon as the specialist walked in the room with my paperwork in her hand she knew what was wrong and was very unhappy that no one caught it. she said when they put the lap band in place hormones told my beta cells in my pancreases to increase in size the more weight I loss the more they did this. now they dump out too much insulin causing my sugar to drop. when I told her what I was told to eat she said no you have to be on a low carb diet no fruit juice beans yogurt shakes candy potatoes .. list goes on. she was like if you feel it going low eat bacon . we'll the last time I was at the doctor she told me to stop eating so much bacon because it was a fatty protein. so I have been on a low carb diet for 3 days now. I have a headache but I think it is from not having caffeine im use to drinking tea everyday and I have been drinking flavored water. but my sugar has not dropped. she said it took 3-5 years for this to happen and will take months to fix. she said my 1st warning sign was being hungry all the time. she was mad the doctor did not pick up on that she said they should have been screening me for it all a long and I was a classic text book case of this illness. and by the way it is life threating it is rare but serious. im glad to have a answer and a way to fix it . I will admit its hard to not have any carbs or very low but my weight has already started to reduce and I think I have a little more energy if I could just get rid of this headache. hopefully it will in time course ol aunt flo is here so this is the worse possible time to start a strick diet my anemia is down as well     my only worry is if she is wrong I have looked it up but don't see anyone who got this from a lapband only gastric surgery. but if my sugar continues to do ok then I will be happy
