neighbiour confrontation

well , found out today who has been complaining about everything, the guy accross the street. spoke  to him back and forth nicely, then he told me about the fing dogs and to keep them quiet. so I asked if he had left the note and that if he had left his name I would have discussed what was happening and how to resolve the problem. He got quiet pissy so , I know it egged it on but I did say if you had the balls to let me know..... and he fired off and came at me full on.  Now something in me just , really hit me and I flashed back to the arguments I has with my wife and all that stuff came back instantly. I did back down and appoligized, but he kept going harder, so I turned  and walked away.

I need to just keep to myself, I feel like I have shell shock, I got in the house and broke down thinking of my wife, what she has done, what had just happened just triggered it all. I feel out or sorts, that I do not belong here at this house.
I did get a storage locker today and will be moving stuff in it tomorrow, 90 percent of the house. I e mailed the renteal broker and told her I was moving out and to consider the harrasment I have gotten.
just venting

Don\'t feel bad about your reaction to your neighbor....

First, the neighbor had a point regarding the wife\'s lack of taking care of the dogs.... dogs bark when they\'re neglected (as in not being paid attention to, not being exercised). And you\'ll fix that problem, right?

And regarding your reaction.... I think it\'s a form of PTSD (post traumatic stress). I found myself doing the same thing.... it\'s not neighbor... it\'s the flood of situations/memories and the anger, stress, frustration that comes with it. Glad you apologized for it. My neighbor wouldn\'t work with me on my situation - turned out he\'s a worse abuser than my X and tried to get me evicted from my house because I stood up to him. At first, I didn\'t want to deal with it, wanted to go hide in my house and pretend the stress didn\'t just happen because I had enough of it with my X already.... but then I realized that FACING it, whether or not the neighbor will be decent (and mine wasn\'t), let me take back control over myself.... it\'s MY home, MY dogs, MY life and I CHOSE to be the decent one instead. It\'s hard, but you can do it! Hang in there... you\'ll find yourself again!!!
