Need to know

Hi, I'm new here. I was recently diagnosed with BP2 after suffering in silence for decades. After learning about my disorder, I was able to capitalize on a hypomanic episode and spent the day researching everything I could about my disorder. I was able to map it back to a MTHFR gene mutation that causes a folate deficiency. This snowballs eventually to bipolar disorder.

Are there others like me who believe we can defeat this by learning everything about it or is this just a hypomanic episode making me think I can defeat this?

I don't know of a way to defeat Bipolar disorder however you can be stable ... I've had this disorder for a long time and other then a few glitches usually caused by troubling events I am stable now.......Big hug... xo

That is my goal. I was able to rationalize with my psychiatrist that my “cure” is learning how to cope on a day to day basis. A commenter, no fault to them, triggered me this morning and sent me spiraling. Then my dog did something that dogs do but that set me off even further and I was almost uncontrollable. I do not like that feeling. Like I was trapped in my body watching myself be horrible
