NEED SUGGESTIONS!!!

OK, my sister did a wonderful thing and surprised me with a new cell phone, i had been toying with the idea of getting one, still didnt know what i wanted yet, or if i wanted to renew my contract. well she shows up at the house with a new phone for me. it made me happy and feel loved. the thing is. SPRINT gave her all my account information, renewed my contract for 2 years, AND gave her my discounted upgrade price... AND switched over the phones, all without my knowledge. now, my sister does not have the same last name as me, and really had no info other than my name and phone number. THIS worries me. How could they do all of this? im happy my sister thought of me, but she shouldnt have been able to go that far in my account without some authorization from me, so im pretty upset at sprint right now. im not sure if the phone is really what i wanted, i mean, i like it, and would probably keep it just cause its what my sister got for me, but im going to go in there tomarrow and raise hell a bit. i might be able to get a really expensive phone for all this. cause they TOTALLY violated every privacy act. anyone could have gone in there today with my name and number, said they were my brother or sister, bought phones on my account, added lines, whatever. i dont feel comfortable with that. im looking for feedback. i will always have a cell phone. so... should i ask for a nice high grade phone? or a couple months free on my bill? cause i am going to ask for something like that, or threaten to turn them in... i mean, there are some serious legal issues here.  i even have a copy of the reciept that my SISTER signed renewing my contract and all its details and authorizing the activation fee. that is not legal. she didnt know better really, she thought she was helping and trying to surprise me. so any suggestions on what i should ask for???

That sure doesn\'t sound legal to me....how could your sister sign you up for a contract...and we know you can\'t cancel once you get started on one of those without a penalty usually....

Did your sister pay anything for the phone? Was this a gift, or did she do it just to save you the bother of going to get your own phone??

Anyway, hope you are feeling good...I know you are in the last days of pregnancy...and probably anxious about everything! Hugs, Dianne

After this, you SHOULD be able to own the company, hon; this is terribly illegal. AND you should not be held accountable for the contract, as it is NOT your signature on the dotted line, as it were. Just mention identity theft, and see what happens. But, you might be better off working your way up the line, as in supervisor or regional manager.

Hi Dracona,
It was very nice of your sister to surprise you with a new phone. I\'ve had some horrible experiences with Sprint, some that made me question my sanity! I was never able to resolve even easy issues over the phone, like having my bill sent to the house. They gave me the option to continue having a paper copy sent to the house, with details on the call, etc, or to send me just a one pg statement, without details. Easy, I thought, I\'ll take the detail one. It didn\'t happen, they sent me the one pg anyway, why ask me, I wondered. They inquired as to which one I wanted and did what they wanted, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, computer glitch, maybe. I never received a detailed bill again, I got tired of talking to recordings, being put on hold, and lied to. I tried to see details on-line regarding my acct, I mean, I wanted to, anyway...couldn\'t get some help walking me through it. Got to see details online once, & only once! My husband couldn\'t believe that I couldn\'t get easy problems resolved, he somehow thought it was me. That\'s why I thought I must be losing my sanity! Some \"free\" game came with my phone package, I suppose I was suppose to cancel it after the 1st month...but I didn\'t, I wasn\'t really aware of the couple of bucks it added to my bill. But when I quit gambling, and started caring about throwing money away, I couldn\'t get them to take the stupid game off my phone. I was told over and over again, that it wouldn\'t be on my next bill...I told Mark they said it wouldn\'t be on my next bill, and there it was, right up to the end of my 2nd contract. Believe it or not, I didn\'t realize 2 yrs were being tacked on to my contract when I asked for a few changes regarding adding more time to my plan, and at that time still trying to get that stupid game offf my bill! We paid for that game for almost 4 yrs! Never did get it off the bill, no credit, nothing. Never played it, either. My husband got so irritated with Sprint he had me cancel the acct and go ahead and pay the $200.- to do so, by then it was the principle. They tried so hard to get us to sign another contract, thank God Mark didn\'t allow that. Sprint sucks! Excuse my language...but there\'s just no other way to put it. I hope, hope, hope you get a better deal out of the wrong doing on their part...you deserve it. The baby is almost here, you don\'t need to be worrying over your cell right now. Deep breath, it\'s gonna\' be okay...Hugs and love, Robin

I talked to sprint, calmly. they were asses as i suspected at the store. i called the fraud company and they cancelled my contract renewal. so no contract. im still going to call customer service and see if they will take a bit off my bill. mostly cause it would help so much now, getting ready to have this baby. cause they did charge me the activation fees, see i wasnt ready to pay for that, and my phone could get shut off because of it. i need my phone. especially now. i wasnt ready for this, and certainly did not have the extra 40 bucks budgeted.

Actually you should see if you can get hold of the VP for either customer or public relations and then tell that person the whole story. Tell them that you are not interested in vengence but that you
would be greatly appreciative of whatever help they can give you....If they don\'t want to help, tell them you could always go earn the money for your bill by writing a story about your experience and selling it to the newspaper, Alltel, AT&T or Qwest...
or you could write the story for Sprint for their training purposes....about 2-3 times the amount of the bill would be the right price...
