need some words of calm

yesterday i saw my high risk doctor for a 16 week visit.  all three babies are measuring great, moving a lot, have great heartbeats and good fluid measurements.   so thank goodness for that!!!!
the doctor i saw - not the doctor i would normally see - was less than compassionate and seemed to be very...judgmental.   she must have mentioned the risk of preterm labor about a dozen times.
i know my pregnancy has that risk.  i am not stupid.  but do i need to be reminded of it over and over again?  she was totally insensitive, never once tried to reassure me or ease my concerns and just kept repeating all of the worst case scenarios that i could experience.
meanwhile, my cervix is shorter than she would like it but she doesn't necessarily think it's shortening....so I need to go back next week to measure it.  and of course, that just puts the fear of God in me, for obvious reasons.  but again, no reassurance, no attempt to be sensitive.  I hated her and i never want to see her again.  i have a call into the office to make sure that i don't.

Ugh... I do not understand how some people pick a specialty like high risk pregnancy when the have the bedside manner of a viper! WTF! I would definitely call the office to make sure you do not have to see her again! My doc is starting cervix checks when I am at 18 weeks (actually 19 weeks since that\'s when my next apt is) and she said the first one is more for a baseline to see if its changing, but if it is or does get shorter than she would like, or shows funneling then we have options we will discuss including putting in a stitch. So even if they think its too short next week, there are things they will be able to do. That\'s why they start checking it so early on multiple pregnancies. Don\'t let the viper doc get you down!

That\'s so odd, usually doctors will try and not alarm you and may talk about it but not in that capacity. How about we don\'t worry about anything that hasn\'t happened yet but be prepared if it does! That\'s what she should have told you. Sorry you had to deal with that, some docs just have no bedside manner!

Ugh I am sorry she was such a B*@#^h! We all know going into the that there is a rick of multiples and that those are higher risk pregnancies so why throw it down someones throat!

You will be fine and your babies are going to be perfect! Please don\'t let her get you down. Do call the office and complain so you never have to go through that again.

I hope you are feeling well, and am so glad to hear your babies are doing so good!

Can\'t wait for more updates!

UPDATE: my favorite sono tech called me back and was so so so sorry that I experienced that. she assured me that I will not have to see this doctor again and felt horrible that i left feeling scared. she also assured me that 1) if my cervix length had felt urgent, they never would have let me leave, 2) that women who have naturally shorter cervix go on to have perfectly healthy babies and 3) IF necessarily, there are definitely options for me, for which I have time b\'c I am still early enough and it\'s not an immediate concern. I feel so much better!

I\'m so sorry you were treated that way. It\'s totally uncalled for, unprofessional and rude. Glad the babies are doing well and you don\'t have to see that stupid doc again!

My pregnancy is high risk too because I have lupus (and the IVF I guess) and my midwife keeps saying to me that were aiming to get to 30 weeks......dammnit I\'m aiming for 40 weeks!!! I don\'t know if shes trying to reassure me that after 30 weeks all should be ok, or if she really thinks babys coming that early but it freaks me out so I know what you mean!! It sucks!!!
