Need More Time? Read These Tips To Eliminate Indoor Playground

If you live in an area such as we do in Western New York (we are in Rochester!) With superbly warm summers and cold snowy winters, you'll understand your choices for your kid's birthday celebration are largely dependent on the weather.
As an August baby, we always had small family parties outside at my house. But, with sons born in November and March, we're always left to reserve an indoor place for their celebrations, if we chose to have them that year. While those with kids with summer birthdays may seem lucky to have numerous choices at their disposal, it can also often feel overwhelming.
While in Climbing Vines Cafe and Play we might be biased because we sponsor indoor celebrations, I wished to share with all the 5 most common reasons we hear from previous party customers to reserve indoor summer birthdays with us. To these, the stress-free nature of the indoor summertime celebration is a no-brainer, plus they're not looking back! After their first indoor summer party, they continue hosting with us year after year.

1) NO WEATHER WORRIES

The most common reason for a customer to reserve a summer indoor jungle gym celebration with us is so they do not need to stem the weather prediction for upgrades in the weeks leading up to the celebration. And if you've ever needed to cancel or postpone your kid's birthday because of weather, you realize how heartbreaking that could be.
We get dozens of calls every summer a couple of days before someone's outdoor party is supposed to take place to find out if we've got an open slot for them in our indoor party venue due to weather woes. We can usually pull off this if the place is open, but hosts will sadly have to scramble and allow all their guests are aware of the change in place and likely change in time, and change all of their catering requests to accommodate their new party program.
While of course rain is most probably the biggest obstacle you may face, intense warmth, unseasonably cool weather, and end may also pose problems to your food, decorations, along with your guests' belongings. You'll likely find yourself investing in a tent another weather barrier simply to ease your mind somewhat, which can be costly and take a great deal of precious time to set up and take down. I will not even tell the story of this time my Dad put up a tent for a celebration in a windstorm and ended up with an insurance claim for 4 damaged cars when it blew away (weights and anchors and all!) ...

Aside from the obvious weather worries it's possible to avoid with an indoor party, there can also just be something so straightforward and lovely about an indoor summer party. Guests won't need to worry about bringing sunscreen and towels and towels and swimsuits and changes of clothes and insect spray... you get the picture.
Sometimes it's wonderful to have a brief break in the outdoors, sip coffee in an air borne cafe, and have an actual conversation with other adults while the children play, rather than chasing children around trying to receive their hat on them or keeping them away from your in-ground pool. I am not sure about you, but I can never quite relax at an outdoor summer birthday celebration with a 2 and a 4 year old. While they sure do have a fantastic time running around, we typically leave at a daze or using a tantrum, unsure if we had the time to chat or check in with everyone.
While I absolutely love a good barbecue or summer grilling extravaganza, I find it refreshing when we can take a rest from the same-old backyard celebration and spend a couple of hours in a relaxing, cool, and most importantly-- included! -- air.
It's also freeing as a guest to have the remainder of the day to do as we wish as a family, not need to worry about getting the children to a tub right after the celebration or stopping home to cool off and change clothes.
I promise that if you reserve an indoor celebration for your child, guests (particularly family) might seem a little confused at first (why not take advantage of the summer weather while we can, right?) But after hosting countless indoor parties I will tell you for sure that on the day-of, you and your visitors will realize how nice it can be to kick back within an air-conditioned private celebration for a couple hours.

3) EATING IN PEACE

Speaking of how relaxing a indoor, air-conditioned celebration could be, how can we discuss food for a moment?
So, for our family, the food factor alone would be enough to warrant an indoor party.
Eating in peace without needing to find shade or a chair or a location away from pests is just one of these things that you don't realize can be so glorious before you attend your fourth or fifth outdoor summer gathering and after that get a rest from them. One of the most common things we hear is how fine it's to just sit and eat and watch the kiddos play without having any venue-related cares or concerns. This is going to be especially important if you are going to be needing older family members attend that will struggle with being portable in the grass or mud and locating seating at outdoor parties.
Plus, when was the last time you attended an outdoor summer celebration with a complete espresso bar and cafe available for guests to enjoy now that they don't need to worry about running around chasing their kids in the heat? Do not worry, we have you covered there, literally!

4) DECOR OPTIONS GALORE

While celebration aesthetic may not be a deciding factor for each and every household, it sure is much simpler to make a themed extravaganza that lighting a youngster's face up as soon as the party's indoors. The decorations required tend to be less since the area is smaller and contained contained, and you won't need to be concerned about balloons and streamers blowing all about or procuring table covers down.
Since we do host cellular events outside at Climbing Vines Cafe and Play, I will also speak from experience once I say the time it takes to install (and take down!) Decorations for an outdoor celebration compared to a indoor celebration usually ends up being at least double. Finding great places to hang banners, needing two people to maintain and secure everything, and locating weights or other restraints for everything can be a genuine hassle on party day.
And you'll have enough to be concerned about that day, right?
Also, if your own pinterest boards are filled with cute centerpieces, a candy bar, or anything that could possibly be affected by wind (or bring bees!) You will probably have to restrategize to get an outdoor soiree.
Not to mention decoration typically can only be utilized once if used outdoors, but repurposed again and if used for an indoor event. Our guests who host indoor events, notably those who spent significant money into decoration or worked hard to create their own, are pleased to find they can usually make a huge chunk of their cash back by reselling their materials on something like Facebook Marketplace.
5) YOU MAY ACTUALLY SAVE MONEY
Speaking of money, probably the greatest misconception I hear from clients is that they want to sponsor a party at their home to save the rental fee of an indoor area. I generally laugh at this because it makes great sense, that is, if you've never hosted an outside party.
With all the"extras" like tents, seat rentals, extra decorations, weather reinforcements, cleanup provides, games and activities for your kids (that you won't have to supply at a play area!) , pool toys, etc.... It's very likely that you are going to end up spending MUCH more hosting a party at your house or an outdoor place than you'd indoors.
I'm not sure how other indoor spaces manage their equipment, but we just charge guests to get additional drinks and supplies and such on the afternoon of the party if they end up needing them, and we also allow parties to attract in their OWN food, dessert, and decor should they choose!
Money aside, spending countless hours cleaning before, during, and after the celebration may also take a toll. Wouldn't it be wonderful to walk into a sparkling clean area and depart with your guests once the party's over, not needing to be concerned about the cleanup, garbage removal, tent teardown, etc?
It's possible to just go home and relax with your loved ones (yes, possibly outside!)
In addition to the time spent cleaning prior to and after the celebration, wouldn't it ALSO be wonderful to not have to play"host" during the event? Even for customers that bring in their own food and decor, our committed party assistants set up everything, refill and mend food and drinks as necessary, clear dishes, cut and serve the cake, and package up all of the leftovers in the end of the party!
In the end, it is your child's special day and you want to spend those valuable hours making memories and seeing along with your guests-- not running about chasing your decorations or refilling the fruit bowl countless times.
So save everyone (and especially your family!) Lots of anxiety, time, and stress by booking your event with us summer time. We would be honored to provide you with an easy, breezy experience that will leave your entire guest list feeling refreshed, grateful, and filled with love after spending a relaxing (yet fun-filled!) day together.
