Naughty & Nice

I forgot to say the other day that I did something slightly naughty...See, I have an app on my phone called "Today's Document". It's photos & docs from the National Archives that have to do with that day in history & it gives you the option of sharing on Twitter, Facebook or email. Well on Monday, the document was a picture of the first woman to be elected to Congress, just 4 years before women were given the right to vote. Of course, considering the "women never should have been given the vote" comment the other day, I just HAD to post it to Facebook! I was nice, though; I merely pointed out to the world that she was the first female congress woman. But inside I was laughing--what a coincidence!


I am happy to say that I finished the reading & the study questions for Karla Downing's book. I kinda feel like I've graduated! I've learned the border between me & others and how that translates into responsibilities, feelings & communications. I think the communication part will be a continual process for me (stating things in terms of how I feel, how I'm affected, etc.), but I can accept that I will always be a work in progress--as long as I'm making progress! Which is a cool thing to say, considering the perfectionist that I am!


Now onto "Thriving Despite a Difficult Marriage" by the Misja brothers. (What I didn't know when I bought the book is that Karla (among others) wrote good review of it on the inside!) This book supposedly has a counseling bent to it, so I think that will be good. No study guide; just straight reading.
