Nature of the beast.........

Well......guess T isn't doing as well as we had hoped or thought.  The past two drug screens were dilute.  One screening didn't even show any urine....only water.  Guess my baby has been tampering.  The last few times, I didn't insist that my husband go with him to do the tests.  The counselor, for being in the business for 25 years, should have made sure.  But really, what difference does it make?  Either drugs will show or they're dilute - both are considered "dirty".  Sigh.  That's the nature of the beast..........ups and downs.......not a fun ride..  Strangely enough, ever since we found out about the test results, we are noticed a behavior change.  He's starting to fall backward..  I so hope he can get reeled in.........so hope and pray. Same goes for the 2nd born.  We haven't heard a word from him.  I did, however, see a mom of one of his friends.  I guess he's staying off campus with tons of kids.  Some go to college and work, some work, and some freeload.  According to this mom, our son has offered to help clean up the place and bought groceries!   Offered to clean up?  Is this my kid?  He's only been there two days.  I hope he contacts us soon.......  Our oldest, will be living off campus at his college for the first time.  Last year he was an RA - had his own spacious room and closet, and own private bathroom - all brand new.  He's trading it for a place for six people.  He's looking forward to it.  This kid, compared to most kids I know, is the extreme opposite.  He's grounded, he's very mature and responsible, he is spiritual, he's very smart, kind - all of the Eagle Scout traits describe him (he is one) and he is modest.  Never gave us a hard time at all - even through his hormonal stage.  Very easy.  We also went through great pains to not compare them to each other.  I think we did a good job with that because they've always gotten along, despite their differences.   His brother's know that their big brother is an extreme - would comment on it once in awhile in a gentle, teasing way.  Perhaps their older brother's successes did bother them in some ways.  Middle guy has his share but compared to the older one.... who knows if it really bothered him or the youngest one? Case worker is supposed to come to our home for a drug screen tomorrow...... T doesn't know about it, yet.......
