NaNoWriMo is on!

Well, for the last three days since I got home from my boyfriend's house I have been working intently on NaNoWriMo. For National Novel Writing Month I am doing a revision of my novel, "Diary of a Hollywood Hedgewitch" trying to cut it down from 700 pages in Standard Manuscript Format to a more manageable length. So far I have removed six chapters. I still need to make more cuts.
I'm also reading through the novel for continuity.  I recently added a 50 page third act to the end of the novel. In these pages the main character breaks up with the boyfriend she's had throughout the book.
Hopefully this new ending will provide closure, more then was there previously with the earlier ending. In a previous draft the novel ended with the couple in Palm Springs together and happy. Now it ends with them apart. Now my novel has an ending.
I feel like I had to break up with my boyfriend in order to write the ending of my novel. The life is feeding the art is feeding the life. I'm not sure if I'm living to write or writing to live. Either way I have a new novel.
My novel is not done yet though. This month I am going to devote myself to cutting and revising it as my participation in NaNoWriMo. It's good to have a project.
