The odd mix of feelings and interactions was pretty intense on our little ship of fools yesterday. Big Sis prattled 4 year old style about Mommy and Daddy for the entire day while Big Bro (6) lashed out angrily at just about everything. Baby Sis kept right on tooling through her business as usual while Hubs and I took our best guesses on how to calm the rivalry between the elder sibs. All I can say for certain on that score is that there wasnae any bloodshed between them. So far.
Still, the night's rest was calm and peaceful for all. I am grateful there isnae school today. It feels like one less stress on the family plate, just for today.
The use of the term, "Normalizing" seems to be calling forth valuable tools from my early psychotherapy. The professionals who gave me those tools remain acronymic noodles in my sloppy bowl of psychotherapy soup, but *they* are probably all dead by now, anyway, buried with the out-dated terms and techniques by which I was theraputed. It be the tools I need to cope with the current evolutions, by whatever name. If the "Normalizing" techniques helped me survive childhood in the kiddie whorehouses, can they be modified to help our littlle ship of grandfools find happiness after the loss of a beloved son, father and mother?
Testing, 1, 2, 3. . . Prayers ongoing. Letting the healing mysteries guide. Listening for the Quiet Voice. Attempting to go placidly amid the noise and the haste. Being gentle with myself in the missed guesses.

So glad you were able to write here "I am grateful there isnae school today. It feels like one less stress on the family plate, just for today." One less stress for one day is how we make it through one day at a time, right arfie?
Amen, my brother-in-healing, I say onto thee, amen.
An old friend seems to have re-entered the dance on the two steps back. The Tinker's Den has been sad and neglected since the turkeys we brooded there died of the Blackhead Disease during the chaos of getting everybody on the school schedules. Hubs and the kids are all in there building a stand for the donated telescope Hubs pulled out of the unclaimed room in the Honey Barn. It is especially exciting to see Big Bro in there. He has refused to tinker with anybody since the CPS custody shift. We have missed his tinker talents mightily. It was/is worth the price of helping him channel the anger which had those talents under proverbial lock and key.
I recently have found out dated tools to be effective, Arfie. Sometimes dusting off the old works better than the new.
Hugs and support and love my friend
Inside my personal psychotic herstory, grammar corrections and rapid cycling names for ^it^ are far more problem than solution. My recovery isnae a pop psychology spectator sport. The healing mysteries live beyond words. I trust the healing mysteries far more than I trust the pop psychology gurus.
