Myotherapy

I've had four visits to the Myotherapist and the tightness in my leg muscles is gone.  I can stand and walk short distances without pain.  Trigger points still return when I overuse the muscles, but between treatments, I'm able to work on them myself with a small wooden device that I purchased from Bonnie Prudden's website.  It is the same device that my therapist uses on my neck and lower leg muscles.  The belly of my hamstrings develop TrPs daily, but my husband releases them with his elbow.  It works.  The Myotherapist has found TrPs that I didn't know I had.  During the 90 min. session, she covers my entire body tracking down the TrPs and releasing them.  Currently, I feel much less tension in my body.  Part of the program is that I have specific stretches that I am supposed to do 3 times a day. After a week of doing the amount of repetitions that she suggested, I developed a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck.  Today I saw my Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor and he found all the sources of the tension. My occiput, Atlas, C3 and C4 were all out of alignment.  These simple stretches caused the muscles to tighten and pulled these bones out of position.  I am sooooo deconditioned that I have to cut the amount of repetitions that I do each day. At least I'm starting to recondition my body.  It is a beginning, and I feel like I'm on the right track.

Carole, I am so glad to know all your hard efforts are paying off. I wish I lived in an area that offered so much. I would love to see a Myotherapist. Would probably benefit by an Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor as well. I do know of some in Atlanta but that is a two hr drive.
It sounds like you are getting your body reconditioned and to be able to stand and walk w/o pain must be a truly amazing feeling.

Hugs,
Cindy
