My Wife
Yesterday, Oct. 19th, my wife was diagnosed with Gall Bladder Cancer. It is inoperatible due to it being near the bile duct that joins the liver. This process all started with a different oncologist and we have chased this process since Feb. We finally changed Oncologists and he found what was going on and where.
She asked if she did nothing, what her prognosis would be and they said death from 3 to 6 months. They recommended Chemo and she has chosen to go that route at present but, she said if the chemo made her too sick and she felt she could not tolerate it, she would stop the treatments and leave the rest to the Lord. She said she is not afraid to die.
We had our 48th wedding anniversary this past July. From here until the end, this is all in the Lord's hands and we are praying that this cancer can be stabilized and she can have a few more years with us.

I hadn’t heard from you for a long time, and had been wondering how you and your wife are. It sure is sad to hear of your wife’s diagnosis. I feel so bad that it took so long for someone to figure it out. Your wife is certainly brave in the Lord. I will pray for healing for your wife and calm and peace for you both.
It is stage 4 and inoperative, We start Chemo on Oct. 25th but, if it makes her sick and she doesn't feel she wants to tolerate the side affects, she will just stop the treatments. The hospital said they would set up Hospice for us when needed, if that is her decision in the future.
Thank You.
I’m so sorry this is happening to your wife and you too. I hardly know what to say, except to look to God for comfort and direction in His Word. Speak with others who have gone through something similar, so you don’t feel so alone. Keep talking here if you like. You will be in my prayers.
Since Feb.7th, my wife has had kidney stones, This is when the lesions were first found,. She had a heart attack Feb. 28th and over the past 6 months, we have chased these lesions. She has had an upper endoscopy, a colonoscopy, chest x-ray, mammogram. lymph node checks 5 physicals, 3 biopsies 6 co-vid tests, 5 blood tests, A CAT scan and a PET scan and the other oncologist said, she was a "patient with cancer of an unknown origin". That wasn't good enough for us so, we chose another oncologist that our daughter, who is a nurse, had worked with. He had the 3rd biopsy done and told us more in 10 minutes that the previous oncologist had told us in almost 6 months.,
Personally, I do not think my wife will continue with chemo. I believe the first time she gets sick, she will say, enough is enough and she will stop the treatments. She and I have been together for 50 yrs. we've raised 2 kids and seen our grandkids grown. She says if it is her time to go, she has been blessed.
Your wife is a strong person. This has to be so hard on you. I’m not sure you remember me, but I used to be idajoy. Some PTSD symptoms made me need to change my name. I’m so sorry all of this is happening to you both. 50yrs is a long time. I’m sure you have some righteous anger at that first oncologist. That’s okay. God be with you both.
My wife is taking Chemo now. The Molecular Biopsy results came back and she has bile duct cancer. It is inoperable and incurable. She has had 3 treatments so far and after 6 treatments, they will do a scan to see if the chemo is doing what it is supposed to be doing and what other treatments are needed, if any,
She has not been sick, has not lost any hair as of yet. The only thing she has noticed is that it makes her very tired for a couple of days,.
The Oncologist is very pleased with her progress thus far.
The only bad thing is that there is only about a 25% survival rate of 5 yrs,. of those with bile duct cancer if it has not mastastisized to other parts of the body so, we will just have to take it as it comes and hope for the best,.
