My Weight Loss Journey
Okay. I'm starting a journal on my progress on weight loss....
Whether anyone anyone reads this or not, I feel compelled to write down my ups and my downs from day to day. I hope I can inspire others/I hope others can inspire me.
This journal will be effective for me when I have bad days. I can look back and see what was positive; what was going on to allow me lose the weight and achieve my goals.
.....
I need to back track.
I'm following the LA Weight Loss program which I have had success with in the past. I have the tools and I have the know how. Except that I don't know how I allowed myself to get back into this predicament. Oh well...
I need to lose around 25lbs and have given myself until the end of the year (2012) to do it. I figure that a healthy weight loss is around 1lb/wk.
I started the journey on September 16, 2012 with a two day cleansing diet. My starting weight was 163.0lbs.
Sept 17: current weight 162.5 lbs. I was down 0.5lb! I knew that I had to have more water. If only I had drank more the previous day.... Why couldn't water be flavoured? By this time I was craving certain foods. My head hurt. I was going through withdrawal symptoms but, I didn't know of what.
Sept 18: current weight 161.0 lbs! I lost 1.5 ibs! I can't wait to indulge in some real food but, watch those portions! Tonight I came across a fabulous site called Daily Strength. I don't know why our paths never crossed before but then, I wasn't looking to make a lifestyle change until now. I think that fate put us together and gave me an avenue to document my success/failure.
Sept 19:current weight 160.5 lbs. I lost another 0.5 lb! I couldn't believe it. Talk about a boost! I'm on track now and feeling fine. I put on a pair of jeans that have seen tighter better days and I couldn't believe that they actually buttoned up without my pulling out the wrench and pliers to close the button. Victory #1! We have to celebrate the small victories! Where's that cupcake? Oh yeah, right, I forgot. Crack open that sparkling bottle of Perrier!
And now to the present.
Sept 20: current weight 160.5 lbs. I stayed the same, which is better than gaining! I felt so bloated last night and couldn't get my late night snack in. I was so full. I remembered too late that I should have had hot lemon water to help with the symptoms. I missed out on having a fruit and 1/4 dairy. I also didn't consume any water. Can you believe that I was THAT busy? I was, really! I was running around town from one errand to another before the kids got home. I finally sat down to sleep watch t.v. at 10:30pm! Where did my day go?
Today was just as hectic as yesterday. I was out all afternoon doing errands. I had to shop for my daughter's friend's birthday present! We were so busy all week and we forgot. So while she attended school I was out shopping. I got back just in time to greet my other daughter when she got home from school. We ate late tonight (again) and I picked up pizza for my other two kids. I spent one hour dropping my eldest to the party and driving home. Can you believe it? I was starved when I walked through the door and while my supper heated in the microwave, I ate a cookie. I know. But it wasn't ANY cookie. I was a GIRL GUIDES chocolate mint cookie! My favourite! I couldn't help myself but, hey, it's better than eating a lot, which I have been known to do. Thank goodness my husband took most of them to sell at work. Out of sight; out of mind. Yeah right. There's a box in the fridge and there are still 3 boxes on the bench looking for a home.
I still have to have 2 fruits and some more protein. I need to get back into the swing of things. Or I need to stop having so many errands/chores to do. Those get in the way of eating right, right? Well let's see what damage the cookie has done tomorrow. If I'm lucky, it might be overlooked.
