My Week End

I took my first paxil pill on Saturday and everything seemed okay untill about an hour and a half later when I felt like I was going to have an attack.  I took half an ativan pill and that seemed to help calm things down.  Then Sunday I take my second paxil and everything is going good untill about an hour & a half later when I had a bad attack while driving to get groceries I had to pull over lucky there was a park near and I walked around some and took another 1/2 an ativan about and hour later I calmed down but I was never fully calm.  Later that evening I fell asleep and I woke up about 2 hours later I go upstairs to brush my teeth and my heart is beating very fast.  I go back down stairs and take another 1/2 an ativan and 30 to 40 minutes later I was okay.  This is frustrating because I want to be normal so badly and not have to take any medications at all.  I went to talk with my doctor this morning and he says this drug takes time to build itself up in the body and to keep taking it.  It sounds crazy to me to keep taking something that causes anxiety to occur and it's even more difficult to take something that you know may cause you to have an attack even if it's going to help later.

oh geez............ I am so sorry, and we talked all about this. I wish I knew what to tell you.. that is exactly what the doctor told me.. JUST STICK WITH it, the side effects will go away.. but when you are given it for PANIC DISORDER , and the panic attacks get WORSE when you take it, it SUCKS!!!!!! Ofcourse I know you want to get better, we all do, but I just couldn\'t stick it out with the Paxil... have you tried taking a whole ativan pill when you take the Paxil? did the doc say it was okay to take the ativan while these side effects are going on? I know it takes time to build up, but trust me, I have been EXACTLY where you are right now, I feel your pain...... you know I\'m here for you, message me anytime, I wish I had the answer for you... big big hugs x Gaye
