My uncle pled guilty

My uncle pled guilty today for less time in jail which makes no sense to me but that's what it is admit guilt to something you did for less punishment time for what you did I don't understand that his next court date is next month so idk what they're going to do then my foster mom says they're probably going to schedule the trial dates and it will probably be next year

I'm ok I think I got super bad and my foster mom had to calm me down at one point she had to help me control my breathing she said I was going into a panic attack I think I had those before recently cuz I done the same thing last week I'm super sad and kinda scared but my mom says he will never hurt me again he's going to go away for a long time and get help for his issues I'm still torn between I love him and I want him and I need him and I miss him so bad and I want him to go away and get help cuz what he did to me wasn't right

I see my therapist this week on Thursday I think so I need to last till then everything makes me want to throw up it's a lot for me to handle I want to know what's going on with all this and I don't want to know if that makes sense cuz it don't make sense to me

Just my thought Cat...right now you are In Your Head so much because there is nothing to focus you towards anything else. I think when school starts, you get a routine to your days/nights M-F and Weekends you will feel more balanced and in control. Hugs, ml

Happy to see this happen. Too many guys get by with this and they need stopped. I'm sorry it happens to be your uncle but you're better off where you're at. Follow your therapy plan, it's going to help. It's helping me.

First, I'm very sorry that you are feeling so sad and scared. It's understandable that you would feel torn between the love you have for your uncle and the fact that he needs help and to be punished for what he's done. I want to reassure you that you did the right thing by reporting him.

Admit to the crime and get less time -- I can see why that would be difficult to understand! The vast majority of sex crime cases do not go to trial. Prosecutors and the courts like plea bargains because their dockets are full and their resources are limited to handle all of the cases. Simply put, it saves time and money. Defendants often plea bargain and waive their right to a trial when they believe the evidence is against them, and they are likely to be found guilty. It allows them to have some control over the outcome of their case, through either a reduction in charges or a lighter sentence during the penalty phase.

Regarding the court date, it will likely be to present the plea agreement to the judge for approval and set a sentencing date. (In some instances, sentencing happens at the time the plea agreement is entered, in which case no sentencing date will be needed.) Even though your uncle chose to plea bargain, during sentencing, the court will still take into account the severity of his crimes, his previous criminal history, and the fact that he is considered violent and dangerous under your state's laws.

I hope that your therapist will be able to help you sort through the difficult emotions that you are feeling. We all care about you and remain here to support you, however we can. Big hugs.

Hugs Honey...deep breathing and know that all will work out...I had a thought, if you have to testify, ask if you can do a 'video' testify so you don't have to be in court with your uncle...just a thought I had last night :)

Sweet Dreams and hoping that Wednesday will be a Beautiful Day For You and Max <3
