My Trip to the Doctor

Monday, December 15, 2008 – 7 P.M.  I have made it to and from my doctor's office in a reasonable length of time, unlike the last visit, when I was there until seven PM.   There was not much I learned today that I did not already know before going there. I still seem to have a UTI even though I have been taking medicine for nearly two weeks. Another specimen was taken today, and it is going to be sent into the lab to have another culture done on it.   I asked my doctor if he was running out of antibiotics to give me. He said no, but he was just trying to give me those for which I would not have a bad side effect. I will buy that.   Since a certain person here has been trying to get me to talk with him about taking probiotics, I talked to my doctor about that. He said he was aware of them, and had been prescribing them for certain patients. He then showed me a list of ten that he used. We talked about them for a while, and then he said that since nothing else seems to be working very well for me, I might as well give this a try as well. He then gave me a prescription for pills, which I will take twice a day.   In addition to all of this, he gave me another prescription for six more weeks of physical therapy. My doctor did not seem to think that my UTI would be contagious. If, for some reason, my physical therapist no longer wants to work with me, she will have to come up with another excuse.   The weather has been a horrible here during the weekend. We have had nothing but snow and cold. They are predicting more snow tonight, and it is already 2° outside.
