my tooth(molar) broke//when god was a woman by merlin stone//bullying by our former supervisor
"before 1079 a.d. priests and nuns were allowed to marry"
"the first daily mass was in 394 a.d."
"before 1500 b.c. the current bible didn't exist at all" and religion was completely different than it is today.
i'm reading "when god was a woman" (meaning when women were priests) by merlin stone. EXCELLENT. when i took women and religion classes in college we were taught women ruled MOST of the religions (were the priests and ran civilizations) for 10,000 years before christianity took over 2000 years ago, merlin stone's book claims that women were priests for 25,000 years before christianity. they should make anthropology a mandatory class in grammar school. she has all the proof and stuff. its like usa with history, after grammar school, you end up believing civilization began 200 years ago when usa became a country, instead of knowing that civilization began 25,000 years ago. HUGE difference.
my molar cracked on t-day, a couple of days later some more cracked. it doesn't hurt. it was a molar the dentist glued back together 7 years ago as it had multiple fillings in it and came apart - i have two teeth like that with more than one filling in it. so odd to lose so much of a tooth. for the first few days my tongue was getting cut on it. now the tongue has like a callus there i guess and it doesn't hurt anymore. something else to look forward to taking care of. "old age ain't for sissies" bette davis.
we have an article at work on bosses who bully and our former boss, who they used to call a relic because he was so loud and obnoxious, is in this article all the way through. i think all of us, in this branch have ptsd just from knowing him at all and we are still recovering from it. seriously. he would never hang up the company policy on non-harrassment because he was guilty of EVERYTHING on there. our big manager in orlando says he will never allow another supervisor like that (though his payroll person out there is just as bad or worse! she needs to be turned in for misappropriation of funds).
our company has a policy six years on the job or two years of college and two years on the job to apply as supervisor for one of the branches. he says the six year thing is outdated and most companies stopped allowing that in the 90's because it doesn't work and he's never going through that again.
our former supervisor was always getting into fights with people who worked here, one of them physically. its amazing companies were managed in that manner 50 years ago, but they were. all people having college education is actually a new thing. the former supervisor even did the sexual harrassment and the stalking thing and worse. i still don't know "exactly" what he was let go for, you can't always tell, because they give them the option of resigning. i know to get the position of supervisor, he handed in a lot of work that didn't belong to him and said it was his. and he needed two people below him to run the office and if either one of those people weren't there all hell broke loose. he also did criminal kinds of things.
i don't think i have ever seen a totally honest office anywhere. lawyers are usually the worst ones, but bankers are right behind them and not just at the public, if anything its at their own personnel. its sickening. so i'm doing the intraoffice stuff on bullying next, and sending a copy of this information on bullying, over to orlando. his payroll person REALLY NEEDS TO READ IT.
also want to look up the law on how long an employer has to pay things like bonuses and vacation pay without it being misappropriation. hate to do it but until people are sued (or worse) evil people don't seem to learn anything.

Interesting journal on the beginnings of religion and women. I have never known much about Religion and its past history. I might put that on my reading list.
I think your company has a excellent plan for Supervisors. So people who do not have the college but the practical learning experience can go forth. It should be like that for many different types of positions.
I agree you need to read up on the laws on bonuses and vacation pay but I think it is optional at best.
Huggles
its definitely NOT optional. if the office manual states that they are providing bonuses and vacation pay they are obligated to pay it. what i need to discover is how long after submission requesting the bonus or vacation pay do they have to disburse it. we are paid twice per month, so i would assume they have a two week window. some of these payments are made THREE MONTHS LATER. its driving me crazy.
the six year thing is what they are cancelling. most companies don\'t allow it anymore. they offer reimbursement for tuition instead and people are told they need to get a two year associates degree (at the very least) in ANYTHING from any accredited college or university to become a supervisor. most companies always had the option of long time experience or less experience and a two year or better degree within the company itself, but have stopped it. the people without college have a tendency to bully, and to not comprehend things and then lie to make up for what they don\'t understand. some of these people are soooo bad its scary. like a lot of people worked here, including me, because they liked the company....but MANY people did not like the former supervisor, so they would say, i work here in spite of him. his interpretation of that was they worked at the company \"to\" spite him. no matter how many times this was explained to him he NEVER understood what they were saying. i also don\'t think he passed any of his broker exams at all. the guy couldn\'t even write a report. i think he had someone take his tests for him that looked similar to him. this happens all the time in law and medicine as well. we had a lawyer named alexs at one of the bigger firms in nyc where i worked. he couldn\'t write a letter or a memo. alllll of his sentences were run on sentences and grammatically incorrect, but he claimed to be a lawyer from a top school. he was caught after a year and LOTS of fighting there as well. very scary to think that happens in medicine as well, but it does. lots of cheats out there.
