My Story-My life-My Goal
I was once a shy naive country boy
Growing up on a farm
I was taught the Golden Rule by my dad
And to never do anyone harm
Because of my nickname of "Pee Wee"
Many times I was tormented and teased
They also made fun of my white haired dad
So, I fought back and done as I pleased
I only had one girlfriend I guess
All the time I went to school
I never had fancy clothes or cars
Never once was I considered "cool"
I married young and it all went bad
So I turned to drugs, bikers and booze
I ended up an alcoholic
Lost everything there was to lose
I was an outcast in my little home town
A biker with long hair and a beard
No preachers ever came to visit me
I guess they thought I was too weird
Through the years, I learned what hardships were
I will just list a few
Most people would have given up
But struggle is all that I knew
Nineteen Seventy was a terrible year
My home burnt in the early spring
3 weeks later, I crushed my left hand
What else was this year going to bring
I worked with painful steel pins in my hand
tried to provide for my kids and my wife
I bought another home for them
And thought I'd start a new life
In 72, our marriage was over
I quietly moved away
I gave my life to Jesus
And I began to cry and pray
I married again in seventy four
That was 36 years ago
I became a preacher and Pastor
God had a plan, now I know
My dad passed in seventy nine
And he was proud of his prodigal son
Mom passed away in ninety nine
Both proud of the battles I'd won
Then came July in two thousand and five
My son died at thirty seven
Many thought that I would give up
But I trusted my Father in Heaven
I'm now past my mid sixties
And some wonder why I'm on DS
I've been through so many things in life
I felt I could help them. I guess
I strive to be a blessing
To those in sorrow and in pain
I guess I have always been crazy
But it's kept me from going insane
