My Spirit
I was asked what my spirit is. What is the most intense (or real) moment you FEEL yourself, your presence? At the times you look at the mirror? Imagine that you have NEVER seen a mirror in life until today. The first time you look at a mirror, do you believe what you see is you? Psychologists say that we tend to associate with an image….yes… the image in the mirror, as well as our gender, age, status, etc. But is that the true you or just an image, an illusion of you? Do you FEEL you in the mirror, or you just SEE you? What is the difference?
There is a moment of “I” every morning when I wake up….I have a very short moment of consciousness before my mind takes over. That is the moment of my true self. The moment also comes when I sit quietly by myself with an empty mind, but intensively at presence. When my wife was still here, that was the moment when I looked at her eyes and held her hands. I wasn’t thinking anything, I was feeling it. My mind was not taking over. I was my true self.
How do I know my true self is my spirit? Again, do you believe that image in mirror is you? Or any your physical features are you…your gender, age, height, look, position, fame, possessions? What does your instinct say? They cannot be you, right? There is something else. There have to be more in you than these physical forms. Then what is that? There is a law of relativity in this universe (sometimes called “the law of polarity”), which says that almost everything has an opposite (except God which is absolute truth) in this universe…. light out of darkness, objects out of space, sound out of quietness etc (Think about this...a light is NOT a light if there is no darkness). What is the opposite of your physical form?
Your spirit. This means that you know your spirit through your physical existence, which is very interesting indeed. If you have faith, this is similar as saying that God creates you (your physical form) to know God. Isn't that amazing?!

Tiger,
I need to read this journal, I few times in order to meditate on it. It is quite profound.

Very interesting Tiger. I think maybe at first, we have that pure self, as a child, when we just exist. I can remember being a young child catching and releasing fireflies at dusk, just existing in a moment of pure self. No thoughts, no cares, just running, catching the light, releasing the light, in the dusk. I think as we get older, we build up the image, we start to analyze and scrutinize, become focused on that image.
And I think as we grow older life with it\'s many lessons starts to burn that image that impurity away. In the end, I hope that I can go back to that state where I was just pure energy, capturing and releasing the light.
Thank you for the thought provoking insight!
Hugs,
Val
Hmmm! Something to think about!
I just love when you write...you make me think and see and I\'m learning to feel...thank you Tiger
My Mother always said to take a mirror and stare into your eyes. It may take a few minutes but keep staring and you will see your spirit. Last time I tried it, I saw peace, no anger. Not sure what I would see now. Also she said if you stare deep into a dogs eyes you will see an angel. Unconditional love. All they want is based on love. To give and receive love.
Thanks a lot, friends. These days I found myself writing differently. I used to write with my mind so my writing was easy to understand. But these days I realized I started writing with my heart, which means I write what I feel without paying much attention to grammar and sentencing. I think, as a result, my writing becomes difficult to read. But these writings do come from my soul, which more truly reflect what is inside me. Hugs to all, Tiger
