My son, my loss.
He is 26 years old. He sent me an e-mail saying that he proposed to his long-time girlfriend on September 20. I asked him about finances. He said they were slim. I transferred $5,000 to his account from mine and my husband's with the subject line in the e-mail, "Happy Wedding Planning."
They thanked us for the money, and then uninvited us to the wedding which is supposed to happen March 30.
He is our only child. We have given him as much as we could afford to give, materially, and all the love and support in the world.
My doctor suspects Asperger's syndrome.
He has blocked our e-mails (or, anyway, doesn't respond to them). HIs fiancée informed me that any e-mails I sent to him would bypass his inbox and go to hers. He even went so far as to change his phone number so we have no means of contact whatsoever. They live 280 miles away from us.
His father and I are both in pain, but, especially, me. I don't know how to accept this. The rejection started just before Thanksgiving. And sometimes I feel like I simply can't go on.
I thought maybe I could find some comfort here.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I know. The pain is awful. All I can offer you is that it all gets better with time ... either way. Hugs, Jadebak.
It is no better.
He blocked me from his Facebook page at the very beginning of this. No contact.
I am not accepting this and going on. I do not cry as often nor as long. That is about the only improvement I can claim.
It is now July of 2015 as I posted the above to my journal.
I have had two cataract surgeries, and one was not too successful, so am probably facing a third surgery.
This keeps me away from the only thing that seems to improve my mood-the swimming pool. No swimming for two weeks after eye surgery.
I know, just too hard to accept. Family was meant to be family. Had such a similar thing happen to us, it makes me very sad to see you had to bear such an awful thing. Can\'t swim? Walk, in the woods with a friend, on a safe street. If it\'s cold out try the mall. I find walking helps, you can pray and vent. It helps my husband to walk, (especially if I am NOT there, :>, as you know some of us mom\'s just have to talk!!!) and they just want to walk fast and work out the pain. I constantly pray, and was given a scripture to strengthen me the other night. Hope this helps you. Romans 8, v 37. more than conquer, more than conquer, MORE than conquer. ....through HIM that has LOVED us! Helps so much when I feel so sad and so weak. Lots in that chapter to uplift don\'t you think? v.24 .....hope. 4 26..Spirit makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (SO real, how we can\'t even articulate the pain, pray without words sometimes....) and then v. 35 and 39th. NOTHING, not even our precious children hating us, rejecting us, lying against us, can separate us from the love of God.
May, 2016 I cannot walk without being in the water. I have osteoarthritis in both knees and excruciating pain in my right hip which may be related to spinal problems. The only relief I find is in the pool.
