My real life right now

For the most part the A's and the healing and the reconstruction of myself and my marriage are on my mind all the time and even now with all that has been going on this is still true but recent events have been quite a distraction. Unfortunately it is a distraction that is making it harder for H and I to put the time and focus into each other that we have been, even though we had determined to really try not to let that happen it is to a certain extent.
So here it is.  You may know that my H has been on unemployment since Aug.  He is boosting it now with some part time work and we have been limiping along pretty well.
Recently my daughter and her fiance and his little boy and her best friend and her little boy all moved into our living room because they all lost their jobs within about a 2 month period of time.  No income, no apartment.  3 families, one home.  9 people in my house and I am the only one working!  It has been pretty overwhelming with the chaos, the extra people, the extra stuff.  It has been going as well as could be expected.  We all like each other and are mostly getting along and everyone is pitching in.  We made a work schedule. They all have food stamps so that is helping with the food expenses.
There is much more I could say about this situation both good and bad but I will leave it at that. My daughter and her fiance and little boy will be here until school gets out then they will be moving to Mississippi where his mother has more resources to help them.  That is another issue.  My daughter and I are very very close and the idea of her being 11 hrs away makes me feel sick.  She will be having babies, etc and we will be so far apart.  We swore we would never be far apart from each other and fiances son is my first grandchild.  I cannot say how sad I am about this.  They are here all the time now and then they will be totally gone. Visiting each other will be a very difficult thing to accomplish due to my work schedule, so time and money will both be a hindrance
So here is the next several months in a nutshell.  End of April daughter gets married.  (No one has money but we are trying to be resourceful and people are helping.) 2 weeks later is DDAY #1 followed 4 days later by our 30th anniversary (again, no monies :-(  It should be a very special day but it is going to get swollowed up by everything else) 2 weeks after that my youngest son graduates from high school and we are now trying to do everything we are supposed to do at the right times for him to go to college.  (no money?) He is a good student and in the top 8 percent of his class.
Immediately after all this my daughter, fiance, and grandson leave.  :(  Best friend and her little boy stay here.  With us.  Don't know how long.  I am hoping she will get a job here and get into one of the low income apartments.  We live in a smallish town so I don't consider any part of it to really be unsafe.  Even the low income parts.  She calls me mom and I consider her little boy a grandson.  I am glad they will still be here but it won't make me miss the others any less.
I am just hoping that all this craziness going on and coming up won't set back my H and I in our work on our marriage.  It is definitely a distraction and we are finding it harder to stay as close as we have been.
Overall I'd have to say we are hanging in there.  We will make it through all this and whatever is to come after that.  Cole and I have God and each other.  In all else that happens now and later we still have each other and will still be together.  As long as we stay each others top priority and focus.

Hey there,

Loved reading this. I find similarities in our personalities and giving natures. Really impressed by the generosity and love that you all have extended to your new guests. That really shows you & Cole have wonderful, God-like, giving spirits. Makes me really glad to \"know\" you both.

I understand the constant \"on your mind\" thoughts regarding your past. They weigh you down and can send you into deep depression. (for me, anyway) You are in my prayers for the renewal of love for yourself. It is a huge guilt burden we carry. But thankfully, God can restore us to sanity..
and we can get there! We are never alone.

Regarding counseling...have y\'all looked into churches? We received free counseling for a few months and it was helpful, and local. (less on gas).

Also, have you considered any 12 step meetings? I do 3 a week & consider them vital to my recovery.

If there is anything I can help with please don\'t hesitate...here for you.

Hugs....: )
