My puppy

Our puppy had surgery yesterday. It was a very stressful day of waiting to hear she was ok.
When we brought her home she whimpered most of the night. I imagine she was in some discomfort and pain. Thankfully, she is taking two different pain meds for 4 days. The medication helps keep her sleepy which is a good thing. We have to be so careful she doesn’t jump up and down from anything or she could rip her stitches out. Do you know how hard that is to do with a puppy that is slowly getting back to her normal playful self? Some guy at the vet said he just kept his dog in the pen…well I’m sorry but that is not fair to the dog. I am able to watch her closely for the most part during the day. We have to scoop her up and down off the couch, and she is sleeping in her pen at night. I can’t risk her jumping up and down off my bed. I felt so sad and badly for her. She whimpered a few times in the night, but I left my small light on so she could see me.
It is going to be a long stressful 8 more days before her stitches come out. And I really hope nothing goes wrong over the weekend because with Easter they are not open and I certainly cannot afford the emergency clinics…they want almost a minimum of $800.
I just hope she heals up well and no infection sets in!

HOPE YOUR PUPPY GETS BETTER SOON. WATCHING THEM IS QUITE A CHORE, BUT A WANTED ONE, SO THEY WILL GET BETTER SOON. AND VET\'S ARE NOT CHEAP ANYMORE. MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU.

Thank you reneelee!! It is a chore alright, I just hope she heals up okay with no complications or infections. Stitches still look fairly good.

My dog had elbow surgery and he did fine. As long as I gave him his antibiotics, and spent a lot of time with him. Things will work out. no worries.
