My Pulmonary Journey
New to Daily Strength. I was diagnosed in 2013 with Rheumatoid Disease and subsequent Pulmonary Fibrosis. The specialists then told me 2-5 years and I would need a lung transplant. It is now 3 years later and I seem to be stable for the most part although my last PFT's were a bit lower. I am struggling with depression linked to my urgency to stay off the transplant list and get on it at the same time. In order to qualify, I need to lose about 30 lbs. and am finding it impossible due to the extreme hunger I have all the time. I know the meds I am taking are partly to blame, but depression (which I had prior to diagnosis) is literally killing me. I am trying to re-set my will power to diet but am extremely depressed and having a lot of thoughts about suicide. I had been doing re-hab 3X's per week but stopped--so depressed I can't stand to be around people. Hoping to address the issue with Primary Care this week. Good luck to everyone and I hope your own challenges are being well supported by being here on the site. Thanks for reading.

Feeling better today. Looking forward to tweaking my Lexapro and doing Ok on getting a weight loss plan underway. I hope everyone had a good day today. I think of all the people on this site and know I am not alone.
