My progress, so far.

I am on a diet with hubby, we are both diabetics,  And we are doing our best to stick to the diet.  But here's the positive, WE JOINED THE YMCA, 2 weeks ago, and go at least 3 X's a week.  We are starting off slow, but will rev it up next month.  So, until then, your friend, Kitten

had an awakening yesterday. and it put everything into perspective. It made all my problems seem trivial and i do mean all, compared to what happened. I think you all will agree with me when you read about what happened. Around midnight, my sister and brother-in-law lost their house to a house fire. There was extensive damage. It is a two story house with an attic, the attic and the second floor apartment is a total loss. My niece rents that apartment. I thank God she was not home, or i would be at her funeral in a few days. My sister was sleeping, after taking Ambien. My b-i-l was at work, and was offered 3 hours overtime, but he refused it, which he never does. He came home, but did not discover anything wrong, until he opened the doors to the hallways to my niece\'s apartment (their daughter). He then ran to the bedroom to awaken my sister, he had to shake her several times to awaken her, and then said GET UP, GET OUT, FIRE. She woke up, dazed, but after hearing that, grabbed her pills, her purse and got out of the house. My brother in law managed to rescue their grand daughter\'s hamsters, and the two dogs, but he couldn\'t find their cat, hopefully, she got out. The fire was simmering in the walls for at least 6 hours, then broke out into a full fledged fire. It was deemed an electrical fire. All their possessions are a loss, except for some of their clothes, which the insurance company said will be dry cleaned, at their expense. I just thank the Lord that no one died in the fire. So, like i said, it makes all my problems pale in comparison, and puts them into perspective.

I\'ll just give you the list of foods that have good fiber. Women should have about 28 grams of fiber a day. Whole grain bread and crackers, raspberries, blueberries blackberries, bananas.
green peas, corn broccoli, spinach potatoes, beets, prunes dried apricots , raisins, all kinds of beans, chick peas, nuts brown rice whole grain pasta, oatmeal and protein enriched cereals(3 gr or more)
