my poor kitty

Yesterday I took Silver to his follow up appt. I was so nervous and was worried they would tell me that he would still need surgery. he's been on antibiotics the whole time and he's going to remain on them for a while. He still has the stone in his bladder and it's a big one. He's back to being himself again but they told me it doesn't matter and he needs to get the stone out. it's much to big for him to pass so he will need to have it removed surgically. They scheduled to have him brought in wednesday morning and he will remain in ICU over night and thru the next day. they said if no complications happen, he may go home after. The doc will call me after the surgery is finished to let me know how he did. and then the following day she will call me if he is ready to go home. the surgey is estimated to be anywhere from $1,500-2,000, and i don't have insurance so it will go out of pocket. but that's beside the point. he has had a catheter before for being blocked back in 07 and was hospitalized for 2-3 days. Silver was so traumatized from that. poor guy. the doc said that this shouldn't be as bad for him, but still, nobody likes surgery! ploease pray for my kitty that he does ok and he heals fast! Thanks everyone and God bless...

Oh Alisha,
Poor Silver! He is such a sweetheart, and I will definately pray for both of you that all goes well. I have 2 small poodles, and I know how you feel. Recently, Bo had a small tumor that was growing larger on his back, and I was terrified that it might be cancer. Thankfully it was only a fatty cyst. The vet removed it; kept him overnight, but I was shocked at how long the incision was to remove it. Bo was a brave guy, though, and came through it with flying colors! I pray Silver will do the same.
I love you and miss you all terribly. I can\'t wait until I see you all again!
Much love,
Elaine

thank you all for your wonderful support! You all rock! i\'m still nervous about the whole thing but we will go thru with this. i just don\'t like the idea of Silver (whose been in the family for almost 7 years) to be in any pain. i hope he heals quickly and goes back to being himself again. he\'s such a silly joyful cat. thank you all for all prayers! i\'m so thankful for you all!

Hoppe your kitty does well tomorrow. I know how much worry is involved when a pet has to have a surgery, my yougest golden just had to have a melanoma removed this past December. It is outrageous the cost for these things, but we do it because we love our animals. I\'m sure your love for your kitty Silver will be enough to help him pull through this surgery and get back to his normal self real soon!

Praying for Silver right now. Cats usually tend to do pretty well with that type of surgery so I hope that holds true for Silver.
