My Poor Baby Boy

Poor Rick,he has been home for 6 days now with a nasty ear infection, but more importantly a shocking pain behind his eye and above his brow.  I've taken him back 3 times to the local surgery for pain relief and help.  First off on Friday, antibiotics and ear drops for the infection, bit suss on the pain, but probably due to the nasty infection and should ease.  I gave him some of my pain meds until we could see the doc.  By Sunday afternoon he was ready to punch the walls in he was in so much pain, so I took him back to the surgery and a different doc had a look, said hte ear was clearing up, but gave him a stronger, morphine type medication for the pain.  Well, he was not a happy camper by middle of the night, these new meds had done NOTHING.  My meds were better for him.... go figure.  When he woke up Tuesday, his eyelid had a bit of a droop!!  So I insisted we go back again.  Got another different doctor, but I kinda liked this one so was hoping for a better result.  Rick has noooo patience btw. Well this doc shook his head and said that he didn't understand why the 2nd doc had prescribed the endone.  It was very obviously a nerve pain and should NOT be lasting so long.  Long story short..... he prescribed prednisolone and more pain killers (like mine) and he will continue the antibiotics.  He said he didn't want to worry us, explained the artery and nerves in that area, and it is probably Trigeminal Neuralgia, Temporal Ateritis (sp) or Bells Palsy.  Hopefully this new treatment is the trick.  He also said if it's no better by Thursday to go back and see him - he was great. Rick woke up this morning feeling a bit better, so fingers crosssed these meds will do the trick and it will be a one off that won't come back.  I know that when he doesn't leave his bed, let alone the house, for 6 days - something is very wrong with my boy.  He's even hoping he might be able to go back to work tomorrow.  He's gone out for a little bit now, so I guess it will be interessting to see how he's feeling when he gets back. Dale has a job interview day - fingers crossed that he passes all the checks required and gets this one - and more importantly - keeps it!!!!! I have a job interview on Friday - fingers crossed for me too - I think it sounds really good and I don't want to be at home any longer.  I also don't want to be on unemployment.  So I'm jusst hoping I don't have a fibrofog day and I am what they're looking for.  Things would be great then!!! With Clint house hunting - everyone will be pretty happy if these last few little things fall into place. Well that's about all my news - oh, my new hot water service just got put in and the plumber fixed the leak in my shower, so I am very happy about that!!!  And the fact that it's a lot cooler than last week, lol.
