My own journey
I'm finally realizing, through someone who has been talking me through some of my issues, that no matter what other people are doing, I need to work through my ED. So often my behaviors are influenced by what others are doing, how they're eating, and how they act and talk. What I'm learning is that everyone is on their own individual journey. It doesn't matter if the person next to me doesn't eat all the food on their plate. They're journey is different than mine. Maybe they don't need as much nutrients as I do. Maybe they just aren't hungry. It doesn't matter. I need to stop focusing on others and focus on myself and my own journey. I need more food than others or less food than some. What I'm finally realizing that I should be eating to meet my nutritional needs and treating my body kindly. I'm a runner and consequently I need more nutrients than other people do. But I should be eating good nutritional foods, not binging on anything and everything. God gave me this body for a purpose, and if I treat it right I will be able to serve Him better.
