My Oh My Didn\'t see this one coming!
As "my friends" know I have been divorced over two years and well over him, even after 20 years together!I came to DS because "my rebound love" broke my heart (still love him just for the record!). Anyway, Ron, my baby daddy and exhusband, lost his job which had a major ripple effect in my life! When we split I got the house and all the debt that comes with it. Market the way it is, I am stuck and can not sell it either. Me and the kids were broke but just making it with the child support! Then Mr. Man lost his job, I lost the child support and everything went to hell in a hand basket. Part of the reason Ron and I split was because he "never grew up". Could not handle any responsibility (oh and he drank and got mean, minor detail). When I made him leave he was making $70,000.00 a year. Had no debt but his truck payment and living expenses. Our son had turned 18 so he was only paying $140.00 per week child support for our daughter. He should have been living large. Again, he has no skills but to party, still, at 46! After he lost his job he hooked up with a chick in a bar and went home with her and stayed to live. (not surprising, he is a survivor and a user!). Last weekend I got a call from him (he had been staying in touch and telling me he was sorry he couldn't give me the money and I believe is looking for a job, he always did work), this call was different. All he said was "I am f*cked". I asked how, he said the chick had put him out and he was homeless and broke! I said sorry for you but you did it to yourself! He got mad and hung up!Then two hours later called back, crying about how he was done! and he was better off dead! Blah blah blah. I said quit being a "Drama Queen" "Suck it up and be a man"! I told him to figure out his options and move forward. He figured me in as one of his options! I resisted and then we came to an agreement. He gives me almost all of the child support out of his unemployment and moves into the guestroom and works off his room and board. We are to be ONLY roommates. I am continuing on with my life and he should do the same! He agreed also to no drinking or bringing hos home or around our kids.He moved in this Friday, he has cleaned the garage, fixed my mailbox did the yard front and back and is working in the attic today! I have NO feelings for him! If he won the Lotto and never drank again, I would still not want him. That ship has sailed for me! I am very careful NOT to lead him on, see I know he wants back in. He doesn't miss me, he never really loved me, he loves the set up. House, kids, good meals, etc... He told me it was like I raised a bear then threw it out in the woods to fen for itself. True, true but it is not up to me to finish raising a 46 year old man! This is temporary, until he gets a job and gets on his feet. God I hope he leaves easily. I don't want any more drama for me or my kids! I hope I did the right thing! I almost feel guilty letting him work so hard and then I come to my senses! Work man work, you owe me and your children so much for the 20 years you used us and took without ever giving. You guys think I am crazy? It seemed like a win, win. I have no desire for him and do my best to keep my distance so he doesn't get the wrong idea. I know he is still jealous because everytime I talk about a guy friend, he asks if I "did him". Told him it was none of his business and I don't care who he does! I mean it. I went on a date last night and he seemed to deal ok.I just remember mean, drunk Ron. He swears he has changed but I don't want to see "that guy" so I keep my eyes wide open. So far, so good. He is on his best behavior (after all he is trying to woo me). Too Little Too Late! I am afraid!Wish me luck!!!!
