My Microwave Died a Violent Death
Short and Sweet.
My microwave exploded, caught fire, blew a hole in itself! It was less than a year old. My BIL is going to negotiate to see if he can get a replacement or refund.
I think it was a lemon to begin with. It never cooked the food evenly. But talk about dangerous appliances. I'm so glad the fire was confined to the microwave and burned itself out quickly. I heard this BIG BANG, then a FLAME shot up. Later when it was all over and safe to open the door, I saw a HOLE in the bottom.

Wow! So glad you weren\'t injured! What a jarring ordeal... hope it didn\'t damage your living space. By all means you should get a refund AND a free replacement. Don\'t settle for less, the stress of all of that combined with having to eat lousy unevenly cooked food for a year should entitle you to a refund and a replacement. When you call the company, escalate the call to a supervisor immediately and explain the stress of the explosion and inconvenience of badly cooked food and they\'ll definitely give you at least that. Actually my brother-in-law is the one who bought the microwave. I gave him the brand name, the model number, and the service/warranty phone number. He will need to handle it.

Steven Segal movie, \"Under Seige\" had him put ammonia and whatever else in a microwave to cause a big movie explosion.
Most walmart products, at least, have a one year warrenty from the manufacturer; when I bought a bicycle from them the cashier asked if I wanted an extended warrenty---but how to send a bike through the mail...?
unfortunately, you\'ll probably get stuck paying to and from postage to mail the broken microwave to the manufacturer; that\'s the game they play.
I\'m glad to hear that you are ok and that it wasn\'t any worse. I hope your BIL can get you a new one. They don\'t make appliances to last like they used to, they want you to have to buy a new one every year or so.

omg! our\'s catches fire only if there is food under the tray and no one knows its there. it burns. my friend goes through a LOT of micros because he has a bug problem at his house and they get inside.

I am so glad you are ok and it only damaged itself. This could have been much worse.. I do hope the company that made the microwave gives you a new one to replace it. Then again I wonder if I would want something from them again? I hope the mfg. was a well known one , then maybe they will do something for you. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.
