That’s something you would have to discuss with your treatment team… but there are tons of kinds of therapies and a few different levels of treatment.
As far as therapy goes, even just in talk therapy, there are a ton of techniques. There is CBT, EMDR, Gestalt, Humanistic, Jungian, MBCT, Rational Emotive Therapy, Solution-Focused Breif Therapy, and others. That was just kind of the first few that came to mind but if you want to know more about them just check out this site.http://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/content/therapy_methods.html
CBT is pretty ‘popular’ I guess but personally I like when therapists can mix a few of the techniques and I feel like rational emotive therapy is very useful for eating disorders. I also like the humanistic approach.
Then there are the expressive therapies (or creative arts therapies): art, music, dance/movement, and drama.
And of course there are other things that can be integrated into sessions like hypnosis. I have a friend who’s therapist used hypnosis and she loved it and really found it super helpful.
Now as far as the levels of treatment, there are plenty of options.
You can find your own therapist, doctor, nurse, nutritionist on your own.You could be in an outpatient program (generally meet with team once weekly). You could be in an intensive outpatient program (9-2 Monday thru Friday kind of deal).Or you could go inpatient/residential.
You can always go to an eating disorder clinic or treatment center for an evaluation and they will usually place you in the level of treatment they feel would best benefit you.
So, really, all I’m trying to say is that you have TONS of options and it’s something that you can definitely talk to your therapist out and see if maybe something can be done. But you CAN recover, it’s definitely possible. Just be as honest with your therapist as possible in all situations.
nikki's blog is http://recoveryisbeautiful.tumblr.com VERY helpful and positive.

hard to dish out advise in this type of forum when the person being asked is not privy to all the facts for an adequate judgement. that\'s why she so strongly pushes you to discuss your options with your personal therapist.
Moat people don\'t do the in house option till the behavior becomes life threatening. My own feeling is waiting till its that bad makes recovery even harder. I will pray the Holy spirit gives you and your therapist the guidance you need to make this decision. Always remember you are loved :>)
