My little kids have such big hearts
I had a babysitter for a few hours while I ran out to do some errands, and upon my drive home, I found my two older boys (9 & 7 yr olds) running a lemonade stand. I pulled up with a few dollars and said "what's up guys?" and across the front of their little table was a sign "all sales donated to Leukemia/Lymphoma Society"... and my son Charlie said, we are raising money for the Light the Night Walk in memory of Nonna (my Mom!).... I am doing the walk on October 4th, I have been talkging to my sister alot (this year we have become members on the Committee) and I guess they hear me talking about ideas on how to raise money, what we can do with our team etc.... so they decided they wanted to raise money too! (i started to cry)... they stayed out from 1pm til about 6pm, and raised $62.25 (selling lemonade for 25 cents!)... when some heard what they were doing, they gave $1,$5.... Needless to say, I was very proud of them. I am sure there are plenty of things they would like to get for themselves, but they want to donate it and sponser "our team"! So, my sister has been amazing, when we were brainstorming, we came up with the idea for the "garden of Hope" and they are now doing that at all the walks, selling mums in honor of someone, or just to raise money for the society. I have started my letter, (it's a little emotional) that I will be sending out in the next few days. I hope I can raise a nice amount. You can all check out my page on http://teams.lightthenight.org/SeasonForLove . I am not looking for donations at all! But you can see photos of my sisters and brother with my Mom ( I miss her so much)... The first pix is my older sister Jayne with Mom giving her a kiss, to the right is my sister Deb with Mom, then me with Mom and my brother Emilio. She had a fantastic smile, a twinkle in her eye and I wanted to share them with you. I know I haven't posted any pix on DS, but now you have a face to me and my Mom "Pia". I think that I am most inspired by my children, b/c they wanted to do something special for me, for something bigger than them, and that is a trait of my Moms and I am so happy that they have a part of her in them. (maybe I am like her too, and that makes me proud and happy)... I know I am being sappy.... this whole thing is emotional and I just wanted to share! God Bless!!

Your family is so beautiful...you could all be on a magazine cover! I admire you for all you are doing. Please let me know how I can donate. My husband is a lymphoma survivor as you know. We live day by day. There is no telling how long his remission will last, but we count every day as a blessing. I\'m glad you have such a supportive family, and those kids....don\'t you just love their innocence? I will write you a message about a lemonade stand........hugs
Thanks for your kind words, its kind of our way of getting through all of this, i have my kids that help me along the way, my sister never married, no kids, so her time is spend thinking of ways to raise money. Its her way of getting thru each day..she is a photographer by trade, but gets involved in anything all the time. I try to do my part with her. We are the two that live close to my Dad, so we are always with him, trying to make sure he is busy.
If you\'d like to donate (I am so appreciative)you can do that on the website OR directly to me, I can send you my address. Thanks for the story with the lemonade stand, I just showed my kids and they want to raise more money!! I love them so! Thanks again, Much love!!
