My little dog saved us from home fire...

Sunday morning, March the first, 2009.Richard had the day off, which are very seldom, so he slept in the guest bedroom, in order not to be disturbed, by myself especially, since I spend most of the night up, all the time.So in the morning around 10am, it was about that time to get up, there was one of Richard's friends at the door, so I woke him up, and told him so.He got up, I put the kettle on the stove with a couple of cups, and took my book to bed, until he would tell me that my coffee was ready.I figured he would realise that the kettle was on, and that he was making the morning coffee. In the meantime, I fell back to sleep, then heard my little tshitzu Maggie, jump on my door from the other side. Not a sound was heard in the house, so I immediately thought, Oh My God, I'll bet Richard went straight to bed, when his friend came and went didn't come in at all, and he didn't notice the kettle on the stove.Cause I had never heard Maggie jump on my door like such, so I knew something was wrong. So I quickly open my bedroom door to find some smoke about four feet from the ceilling.I screamed to Richard who came quickly himself, so he could put out the fire.I did leave a mess, but everything was fine afterward. We put back the fire alarm that was sitting on our grammaphone, since it beeps every minute, so it got on our nerves, so we had pull it out of there, believe me it's back there and we will have to get used to the beep.So my Maggie was the Hero of the day.Funny how dogs have instinct.Hope everyone has a good week.Mckenzieone day at the time.
