My little brother

I don't know how to make a 14 year old man grow up. He throws fits, drinks does drugs. I paid for him to be in a sober house for a couple of months four years ago... So I've recently told him that if you have hep c and drink it can shut down your organs and I gave my friend Jay as an example. He brings his drug addict friends around and homeless friends around my mom's house and lets them spend the night. He's on probation for stealing from a hemp plant. He won't keep a job going.

Anyway..I don't want to support him after my mom passes away, I'm going to look at him and tell him I want to live with Jay. He can live with his father. His father makes more money than me anyway. We're all in the same household, so it's going to be awkward.

Anyhow my blood results for vitamins came back normal, they tested for something else too I can't remember but it was also normal. I got to figure out why I'm sleeping so much. I think I just going to cave in and start drinking energy drinks or light brew coffee.

Spring is almost here it'll be nice to walk around again. Spravado has helped me, if I ever need to go in for a regular ketamine treatment I can pay 250 out of pocket. They don't mind if you don't have insurance.

I'm currently reading American Conspiracies by Jesse Ventura it's really good it has you questing things about the death of JFK, the way money is actually trickling up etc.

I hope your St. Patrick's day is great.

#1 you absolutely don't have to support him when your mom dies!!! I am going to suggest going to Al Anon or Families Anonymous to get educated and supported on the issue of having loved ones with substance abuse issues. Mom might be his enabler but you can't make her change. You can attempt to talk to her but enablers get something out of enabling. Get a good lock on your bedroom door, one that takes a key and stay safe.

The good thing is your blood results came back normal but the bad thing is there is no answer on the too much sleep issue. I have osteoarthritis and the pain makes me not sleep good and I am always tired. The arthritis doctor said this is part of having OA. Good to hear that Spravado has helped you, I see the commercials and have wondered.

I just stopped reading a book about the Teapot Dome scandal 100 years ago. I am too worn out with this damaged hip and the pain meds to finish reading it. I took it back to the library. So much of this stuff is going on now, different politicians but the same corruption. Sigh. I am going to read just fiction for a month.

Nice to hear from you! Works been busy so I haven’t checked in on DS in a while. When you mentioned your brother you meant 24 I hope. Addiction is not easy. On the person who is suffering and on everyone else in their lives. We humans are in real need of direction and discipline to have an independent life. I’ve been sober for 6 years and 4 months and am recovered completely with knowing that I can never use a substance again. However I’m still working on looking at my habits and tendencies to shift toward a healthier me. The problem with healing from addiction is that you have to admit the problem, have to get the will to want to change, and then, the big one, learn to accept and love yourself.
I’ve always had the impression that you have a good grasp of reality and that is a precious thing. Embrace that inner strength. Wishing you the very best XO
