My life now
Today is Tuesday 26th January 2010 and this is my first journal entry since I first became ill back in may 2007. I have gone through an awful lot since then, feels like I've been to hell and back, I have been on many cocktails of medication to help with my condition, Syringomellia, I also have nearve damage and from my waist down I have very little feeling. from my knees down I have constant pain and my feet feel like blocks of ice all the time and are very painful to walk on. sleeping was one of my main concerns as I never slept very well, if at all, I now have two types of meds to help with sleeping, thank God, and a good bed, very important. I do feel I have a balance at present and can deal with the pain as it is the norm now what the future holds I've no idea but I'm hoping always as technowledgy changes all the time. I find it hard at times to remember, memory isn't that good. and I feel it is very hard to motivate myself and get going. thats the part I find very difficult and frustrating and if anyone has any ideas i would be greatful. hope to hear from some of you soon. Hayden

i have the same feelings in my legs/feet...please do tell what you are taking now. my neuro seems to be scratching his head at this point and has referred me to Johns Hopkins in Maryland but that\'s not until May!
Hi there
well I\'m on Tramadol 50mg two four times a day - Preabalin 150mg one three times a day. the Tramado helps with the pain and the Pregabalin is for the neuro system in my spinal cord I then take 10mg of Amitripyline along with 7.5 mg of Zopiclone to help me sleep. there is also another drug called Cymbalta which is taken in the morning that can also help. The cocktail of drugs I take works for me, I still feel pain but its manageable. theres no way I would have the op because the a high chance I would lose my mobilty.
Liz, feel free to ask anything and at any time. for me its been a long haul and I\'ve been through a lot so I have lots to talk about and I guess you know what I\'m talking about.
Until next time
Hayden
