My life movin up a little
At the time of that accident I was a factory worker. I moved on and started work on a pipeline. Major change. I was making money like never before, things were going great. After the pipeline, I went to petro chemical plants, and then to a welding school where I became a high pressure welder. Things went well for me, until work in the area slowed down. Now it was time to travel. First move was east to New Brunswick. This was the first time away from my wife and 1 son. If my father in law had a gun he would have shot me because leaving your family for work was never done before this. Anyway my now pregnant wife and my son joined me after month or so. This job lasted about 3 months. Everyday was coming home at lunch and loading up my big heavy coat wih beer to go back to work. I have neve seen a job with so much booze involved. We made it through though. Now it was time to come home. We came home and there was no more work than when we left. Next stop west. I loaded up my wife and now 2 sons and headed for Alberta. After settling in, we found a lot of friends from home. The parties started Friday night and didn't end until Sunday night non stop. Then back to work on Monday. I honestly don't know how I servived it. We made a lot of money and spent almost every penny. There were too many drunken instances in this period to write down. Again the work slowed down and everyone was homesick after 5 years and we decided to come home once again. We had to move in with my wife's parents for a while. I was going out looking for work and drinking more now than ever, but still couldn't see that trouble was brewing. I picked up a few small jobs, but nothing significant. I think drinking was more important at this time. One thing I have learned is that our bodies can take one hell of a punishment.
