My Last Day of Freedom
As I sit here writing my first journal entry I am already missing the freedom that I have taken for granted for so many years. Tomorrow I start my treatment and with it daily shots for the rest of my life. I know this is not the way I should look at it but right now I am not looking forward to this at all. I also know that I should be thankful that I can afford medication that will help me in the future to maintain my mobility and hopefully stay free of symptoms but the other side of me is not feeling it at the moment. The space in my refrigerator that use to hold the yogurt and fruit now has a box of medication. I am going to try to stay positive and think of all the things I have going for me but right now I am missing the freedom that I have always had. I’m sure I will feel better in the morning but I also know that tomorrow my life and my daily routine will be different. I thank God for all that I have and for another day. I pray that tomorrow I will embrace my future with a positive outlook and fight to maintain my freedom.
