My Life
The next significant thing in my life, was meeting a beautiful young woman who became my wife. She is beautiful to this day, but we are certainly having our ups and downs. After we married, things were going well for me. My wife gave me a reason to better myself, as for confidence and working my way up the ladder. I'm still drinking, but it seemed to be ok. There were some occasions that I didn't even get drunk, but not too many I guess. Looking back now, my drinking was also giving her a certain freedom. She pretty much had free rein as to what she wanted to do or buy (when we had the money), and I couldn't say a word due to the fact that I was normally feeling guilty about the drinking and I alway's seemed to be able to find the money for beer. One night we went out to a dance n another town. I had a car full and one of the people was a very pregnant woman. I was very drunk when it was time to leave. Another person wanted to drive but I had to drive out of the town for some reason then I was going to let him take over. I hit a traffic sign, I better say that nobody was hurt . I'm not sure how we got home, if I drove or someone else. The next morning I had to work, imagine my shock when I went out and looked at my car. I got to work and discovered my front licence plate missing. The guy's at work said take off the other plate and report them stolen. Well that's what I did and called te cops. When they arrived they had my damaged plate and a piece of striping off the side of my car which matched up perfectly. Busted. When I think about all the times I drank and drove I just shudder. I am so thankfull that I never hurt anybody or myself. I did get caught once before they really got strict and I lost my licence for 3 months. Another learning experience. This learning is taking me a long time eh !!!!!!!
