My life is much better without gambling. Quitting was a long journey of me trying to figure out a way to gamble responsibly without totally quitting. It turns out that for me, I have to have a zero tolorance policy.
I have used 12 step programs, and they help me live my life in an honest way, but did notkeep me out of the casino.
When I identified the \"part of me\" that was so selfish, it did not care who got hurt by my irresponsibility, I realized that \"part\" was hurting all the other \"parts\" of me.
I have not gambled in over 2 years now, and I still pay the price for my selfishness. Friends and family still don\'t trust me, and I have to accept that.
My faith, and desire to live a good life will keep me on the path to recovery.

Hi B1, that is very inspirational to me. It has been just a month and a half for me, but your post is so dead on. Today I will not gamble. ~atticus
