My interrupted life so far...

I'll just skip the first 45 years...get right to the good stuff. Ten years ago I married a man who had no children. That's ok, because I had 3. Grown and gone, we were about to ride off together into the sunset. Then my life exploded!!!
Rewind a few years. My oldest daughter announced that I was going to be a Grandma. A month later my youngest daughter, not going to be outdone by big sis, announced she was pregnant (don't know who dad is) They were born 3 weeks apart. They are my Best Girls!!!
2 years later, youngest marries the boy across the street. Nice boy, comes with an extra set of "surrogate parents" that his Mom found for him so he could have a positive male role model in his life. They were my GD's God Parents at her Baptism. Happily ever after right?
Soon after the wedding, my new son in law starts calling me to tattle on his wife for cheating and using drugs. She is never home, and he can never find her. One night I get the "middle of the night phone call" that there has been an accident. 2 a.m. high as a kite, GD is in the car when she falls asleep at the wheel and totals the car.
That's enough. I took GD away from her mother. Not legally, I just took her. She pitched a fit. Her brother and sister convinced her to let her stay with me. She could still party and people would think she is a good mother for not wanting her daughter to be in danger. Image is everything to her.
Next comes the felony drug arrest and voluntary rehab (to fool the judge) She "graduates" rehab in April, starts using in May, goes on probation in June and BONUS, gets pregnant again (don't know who dad is).

Entertaining. Anymore details? I admire your ability to remain humorous because I know, the tears shed as a result of this, the stress involved, the outright rage, the tension felt by the entire family, moreso by you, your constant undying love for these two special little people that I simply couldn\'t imagine our family without (that in no way entails that they do not work my nerves on occasion). You have determination, strength, knowledge, and most importantly will. Because as you know where this will there is a way. This dark cloud sometimes gets the best of you, however, you should know that YOU are the silver lining. I love you lots!!!!!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I do realize that this all sounds so sarcastic, but it is how I can make myself laugh. There have been far too many tears to date. There are more details to come. I was interrupted last night.LOL
