My Incredible Journey

My husband and I took a trip for 19 days – almost 3 weeks – far away to help our son move all the way from southern to northern.  It was an incredible journey and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to do this and keeping us safe.  I told her what we did each day (we did a lot) and then highlights of things that happened.  I mostly talked the whole time.  We’ll do the worry box on Thursday.
She seemed a little “funny” again.  I asked her about her son in G with all the storms and such.  He was leading a group up a mountain and saw it all but is OK.  She still acted a little strange but I didn’t press anything.
I told her about the incredible meeting of my long lost cousin with my other cousin.  That could never have been planned.  I told her I think God arranged for that.  We talked about that if I would have let worry get in the way that wouldn’t have happened.  She asked me what else I learned from the trip.  I told her it’s too early to think about that until things settle a little.
When I needed to go to the bathroom I told her but I kept talking.  I asked her how long it’s been and she said 5 minutes.  I told her I better go because I’m not used to doing this, she said sure and I went and came back.
She asked me how my husband acted about me having to go to the bathroom a lot going out there.  I said OK but we’ll talk later about it.  I did say that I went every place that there could have been.  Sometimes I wondered if I’d ever see a toilet again.  Kinda frustrating.  But it did cut down on accidents but I did have my share of them.  But my husband did 3 times.  I encouraged it so I didn’t feel so all alone about it.  With him though, it wasn’t that he couldn’t wait like me, it was because it would be a while and we were in the middle of nowhere.  She asked about with my son.  I said a couple times and I told him just to keep walking.  She asked if he gave me a hard time about it.  No.
I told her that I resisted to put Big Bertha in and completely forgot.  I knew I had to buy some but I didn’t want to let my husband know.  I spotted a Walmart and went myself.  She asked me what it taught me.  Not to do that.  If I have to bring it just do it.  But alone time – not much at all.  When I drove up there by myself when we were in 3 vehicles.  She asked if I stopped when I needed to.  Yes and it was very nice.
I asked her to guess how many pictures I took.  She said 500, then 800.  No – 3,000.  But lots of duplicates.  I don’t know yet what I’m going to do with them all.  I told her I had almost 500 emails.  And I had her guess how many miles.  She guessed 3,000.  I told her me and my middle son are good at estimating.  I estimated between 6 and 7 thousand.  It was almost 6,500 miles.
We talked about my frustrations with my husband that he just wasn’t having the fun I was and how I have to keep repeating myself.  Sometimes it was like being with no one.  He seems to be so afraid of people (I talk a lot to people and he doesn’t) and I worry about that with him job hunting.  It’s gotten worse.  And now the reality of being home and him being home all the time and looking for a job.  I’m used to being home by myself and I don’t like messes.
I talked about it being hard coming home because of the accidents (they are accumulative), listening to songs to remind me of things.  I was excited to get home to my kids but sad to leave my youngest.  She seemed to understand.
That’s about it.  Nothing much else special but me talking about my trip including the unplanned throw up exposure we saw.  Other things good and bad (I got a cold, I got my period, a rock hitting our windshield).  Mostly all good and really awesome.  She said I worked through situations with my son and my aunt and such.  She also said I seemed happy.  Yes but now the reality and I do worry so much about money and my husband’s job thing.  Also about not worrying and not over planning like I do.  We’ll talk more on Thursday.
