My husband
I am 64 years old, and my husband is 76. About 2 years ago he was very ill as a result of a fall. Since then, his short term memory is getting very bad. I have had him to a neuropsychologist, and they diagnosed him with mild cognitive impairment. I live with this man, and I believe it is far from mild. I think I have finally come out of the denial stage that this is happening. I used to get angry, and upset when he would forget the simplest of things. It's taken me awhile, but I finally guess I know that this is not going away. I just wonder how other people handle it when something is brought up, and he really has no accurate memory of it, yet accuses me of getting rid of it. He gets mean. Just would like to hear someone elses take on this. Thank you.
