My Hopes, My Dreams, My Life...
Since as long as I can remember, I have always been drawn to the peaceful existence of the ocean. The soft sparking sand that stood out like diamonds shining in the sun, the gently lapping waves, and the softly blowing sea grass. Sunrise or Sunset, just take me there..let me explore, let my mind wander, and get lost in a sea of pleasure...
On My Refrigerator there is a magnet that says:
I Love to walk the shoreline in the quiet of the morn, collecting shells and sea glass that the constant sea has worn...:)
One of my favorite books is "The Outermost House".
Here, to a tiny house set alone on a dune above the sea, a man has come in solitude to watch, and listen, and bear witness. He watches on winter nights as fishing schooners, last vestiges of the age of sail, move slowly beyond the bar, or come to frozen grief upon it. He listens to the myriad voices of the surf, and attempts, in words, a faithful notation of the music he has heard. He bears witness to the comings and goings of constellations and tides, the nightly patrols of the coast guardsmen who walk the beach; he ponders the dark imperatives that lie behind the migrations of birds and fish, the mysterious "peoples of the sea." Into the vast bright days of autumn he goes, and we go with him, gathering driftwood against the winter nights; in spring we walk inland over the greening moorland, off to meet the alewife run; in summer we kindle our cooking fire on the beach, and sleep between sand-dunes as the constellations wheel above us.
Is this not the life we all dream of?
I certainly have. And it has been with me since childhood. I don't believe I will ever let go of the dream to own a modest home by the sea...just me and the love of my life...together to the end of our days...:)
Something Like This:
Small and Quaint...with just enough to live simply...A Living room overlooking the Ocean, A Kitchen, Bathroom, and Bedroom...perhaps a corner table with an unobstructed view where I can sit and write my memoirs..2 Beach Chairs to where we can witness the most amazing sunsets, and those morning walks at sunrise. :) Our cup of coffee in hand...talking about the days plans...Yes...we talk about it every day, and sometimes he laughs at the exuberance in my voice...but he knows the love I have for the beauty that surrounds me. :)
Perhaps one of the many reasons I have a great love for traveling. :) And where do I choose to travel? Where my heart takes me.....Cape Cod, Rhode Island, Maine...anywhere where I can take a deep breath and let it all soak into me. :) Sunrise, Sunset....Let me enjoy all of it...That's all I ask.

Very poetic. I too have always loved the ocean and your words put me right back there. If i stand at the shoreline and breathe deeply I can feel the rejuvenation of sprit. Thanks for sharing.
Your welcome, my pleasure. :)
